It seems that Israel is a good place to live.
According to the latest UN World Happiness Report for 2018 released in March the top 10 nations in the happiness rankings were: 1. Finland, 2. Norway, 3. Denmark, 4. Iceland, 5. Switzerland, 6. Netherlands, 7. Canada, 8. New Zealand, 9. Sweden and 10. Australia. Number 11 in the rankings has remained quite stable over the past three years: Israel.
How can the happiness index be so high in a country in which even the debate over indexes themselves is so polarized and political? It is worth defining precisely what the happiness index measures: It measures the ability of a country and society to provide citizens with economic security, proper medical care and a healthy long life, a feeling of freedom and the feeling of belonging to a group that we identify with and trust.
We are not sure if this indeed describes happiness. However, this is what the UN happiness report measures.

I woke up on the 9496th day of my life to a beautiful chilly morning. I stretched my sore body next to a glass-like lake shrouded by a wall of rolling mist and creeping sunlight.
We had hiked with our heavy packs for about 6.5 hours the day before and were about to do another 6 (overall about 40km). The terrain was rugged, we followed moose tracks and bear skat. We fought off mosquitos, chipmonks, leaches, angry bullfrogs and raccoons. Up long winding hills and back down again, again and again. The views were incredibly beautiful. Uneven evergreens lining tiny lakes and creeks. Full of mossy roots and rocks, fallen pines, and flowing ferns and fauna. An assortment of mushrooms lined trees and the trails a like, vibrant puffs of oranges and reds and white.
I drank campfire coffee surrounded by the most surreal nature and the best company. We swam in lakes and waterfalls. We ate chocolate (a lot of chocolate), some trail pho, steak and eggs and veggies. We partook in some early evening whiskey and star gazing, and we slept well wrapped in sleeping bags and a loving embrace.
I'd be lying if I said this adventure wasn't a hard one, but I came out feeling stronger. Content, sore, happy, tired, kind of over it by the end, but also really grateful and proud. I brought in my 26th year with a challenge and I came out better for it. Here's to a challenging but worth it year filled with beauty, love, adventure, and good company!

EMMAS LIFE UPDATE:
I’ve officially been living in Colorado for a week! I still cannot believe I actually made my goals a reality and just picked up my life to start this new adventure!
I have already met some overly positive, extroverted and amazing friends, explored new restaurants around downtown Denver, found my gym home and finished up my initial training for work!
I feel it in my gut and soul that this move was the right choice for me. I obviously miss my Arkansas home but I know that the best is yet to come! ♥️
•••THE BEST PART ABOUT THIS MOVE•••
• I did this 100% for me!
• I moved to a city I WANTED TO LIVE IN!
• I applied and got the accounting job I WANTED WITHOUT ANY REFERENCES!
• BE YOUR BIGGEST ADVOCATE!
For anyone who is considering a big life change, JUST DO IT! Stop waiting for the perfect moment, it will never happen. Get out there and make it happen, apply for that job, move to that city and embrace all the blessings you will receive! You have one life to live, JUST ONE, don’t ever let the fear of uncertainty keep you from making life altering decisions that might lead you to infinite happiness and blessings! #lifeisgood
