I’ve been working my f*cking ass off lately and I love it.
I am my number one focus.
The best decision I’ve ever made:
It’s changed my perspective on life and my mind and body period.
I’ve never had so much energy in my life and the closer I get to the earth the more alive I feel💜....
Along with the gym of course😘
My mom sent me a quote from a lady yesterday that I loved because I often tell people, especially those of you that join me in the gym, “You are allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress, simultaneously.” 🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️❤️ This acknowledges that idea.
Today I asked my body what she needed.
Which is a big deal, considering my journey of not really asking that much.
I thought she might need more water.
But as I stood in the shower, reflecting on her stretch marks,
her roundness where I would like flatness,
her softness where I would like firmness,
and all those conditioned wishes that form the bundle of never-quit-right-ness,
she whispered very gently:
Could you just love me like this? .
I’ve taken so many gym “selfies” like this at lots of different stages of my life. Some I’m more muscular, some Im less. Some I’m ten pounds heavier and some I’m leaner. Some I’m pregnant with a big belly and some are with a flabby belly because I’m post partum. I’ve been grateful for every “body” during each journey of life. Instead of hating ourselves for not being there, where we want to be, let’s live in the moment and be grateful for where we’re at and excited about where we’re going. .
Ok so I was a little reluctant to post this “current situation” or “6 week post comp” pic but I do love keeping it real with you guys. I don’t always walk around looking like a shredded beast.
This was Monday morning, I hadn’t trained for 2 days so I had zero pump, I took the kids to the circus the night before and we ate popcorn, lollies and then had burgers and chips! So yeah a little soft around the edges but I’m ok with that, life is about having fun and enjoying yourself not always being obsessed with what your calories/ macros.
I have been sticking to a diet plan during the week (most days) and I am consistently training 5-6 days a week.
Like I’ve said in previous posts. Competing is hard work, the mental games are tough and it doesn’t stop when the show is over. Those post comp demons come out to play and can really mess with you! Have a plan in place, a new goal, a holiday booked, and get back to being a healthy version of you!

Whilst most McDonald’s item’s ingredients lack the quality and nutrient density of a whole foods, I think most of us already know this. But the pertinent thing here is that people enjoy Macdonald’s. And people will consume their items now and for years to come. This is evident by the ferocity in which Macdonald’s has dominated the fast food market for decades. -
Therefore, instead of lambasting somebody (or yourself) for choosing a Big Mac over a kale salad, why not become more aware of what consumption of their food means in simple terms. Perhaps this awareness will consequentially mean that a higher quality food is selected instead in order to fit your plan better, or simply that you are more aware that you can actually fit these items into your current, flexible diet. -
As you can see, I’ve listed these items in singularity, but when combined into a meal (and with a sugary drink), the calorie value can rise fairly high for the volume of food consumed.
That said, what’s your go to? If you have one at all...? If your despise Macdonald’s, feel free to comment “McDonald’s can get f*cked” 😉😬😂.
