POST 10: STRESS & RECOVERY
One of the worst things you can do as you head into Thanksgiving and the rest of the holidays is to stress about gaining weight. Just do a little basic planning. I will look exactly like this on the Friday morning after Thanksgiving. Examples of planning: if you have a drink or two to unwind at the end of the day, eliminate those this time of because you’ll be drinking more at the parties. Bank your drinks. Another: going into a big thanksgiving dinner, fast in the morning. You’ll eat less over the course if the day. But then, don’t be concerned about how much you eat. Relax. Friday morning? Back to business.
There’s an indirect connection between how you experience stress, how you recover, your internal health and your body. Simplified: if you’re too stressed, and you don’t recover from that stress, you’ll look and feel like crap. Or, conversely, if you recover well, you’ll look and feel GREAT!
CONTEXT: I get asked all the time about what I would call down-stream outcomes. More specifically, these: how do I get abs, where do you get your motivation to work so hard, how do I get more toned, how do I lose weight, and what do you do for your skin? The answer is this: I don’t have extraordinary motivation; I happen to be well educated about the downside of doing nothing. And, it’s scary! I hope to share some of that education through this series focused on stress and recovery, and open your eyes to the fact that if you want to look better naked and perform at your best (get those abs or those biceps), you will have to put some effort into managing stress and allowing your body to recover! 📸 @laurenhillary
