I’m gratuating this spring through AFPA - American Fitness Professionals & Associates @afpa_fitness to become a Holistic Nutritional Health Coach. This is a long time dream come true for me. And helps me to work with what I love to do even more🌸This also means that I have to combine my beloved baby - Dinoliciousfood to my new business. After months of trying to figure out how those two work together - I’ve finally found a path on how to start building them together. The easiest way would have probably been just to start up a new business. But I can’t just ditch Dino. Dino is my first website I ever build, first brand I build and it will always be part of me. Dino will always be part of my work. So what’s going to change then? The name of this profile will be given a new name soon, the name of the website will be changed, but dinoliciousfood will have it’s own site on the website with it’s funny twist and goody stories and I will be adding more kids stuff into it as well 🦖🦕 I’ve worked as a private nanny for the past 10 years - And I’ve been really wanting to bring that side more into my work as well. 🤱🏼
With the new name and website I will bring more of the Health Coaching into this, more health tips, more exercise tips, more holistic tips, more mind well-being. So stay tuned for more info! 💁🏼♀️🌱 .

I arrived in Costa Rica yesterday. I'm here with close friends and family. After a full night's sleep, I woke up around 5:00 and proceeded to meditate. I couldn't keep any sort of composure during my session - I started to sob half way through and it was one of the most powerful releases I've ever felt. I can hardly keep my eyes dry while writing this.
One of the most difficult struggles I've gone through this past decade has been finding my voice. I was blessed to have found myself a decade ago, but in doing so, I had to reintroduce myself to the ones that loved me most. It's been so incredibly difficult for myself and my family. I'm not the same person they raised, they grew up with or who they once knew. These family trips challenge me because my voice is often lost in the crowd. I'll be talking and someone loses interest, navigates to another conversation going on around them or talked over.
This past year, the transformations with my loved ones have been incredible, however my thoughts and emotions are still healing from the trauma. The voiceless struggle I went through in getting those around me to understand the new "me" - traumatized me. I now have a weak thyroid, hormones and complete endocrine system disconnect - which I believe has been emotionally impacted by these struggles.
Stress and anxiety are direct players in causing hormonal and endocrine weaknesses, which manifest into full blown physical ailments. Our sympathetic nervous system, fight-or-flight mechanism, also known as the HPA-axis (hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal glands). For more information - read in the comments below.
In order to heal my endocrine system, I must take a mind, body and soul approach. Meditation, self-compassion and self-love have played a huge role in transforming my emotional health by releasing the pain and trauma. Each amazing session I have, like the one I did today, gets me closer to becoming physically, mentally and emotionally stronger.
I’m bringing a little culture to all your leftover eggs!! // Hit me with a LIKE if you’re loaded up with hard boiled eggs right now! ❤️ I’ve got the perfect answer: PROBIOTIC DEVILED EGGS, TWO WAYS!
Classic deviled eggs get an upgrade with some fermented goodness, your pick sauerkraut or kimchi or both! These are the perfect, healthful, Easter afternoon bites or pack them up for this week’s lunches. Support your gut, make use of all those Easter eggs, boom!
Farmers market Sunday’s! Love spring for the micro greens— ready early + packed with nutrients!
🌱 Microgreens are young seedlings of edible vegetables + herbs harvested less than 14 days after germination.
🌱Microgreens like red cabbage, cilantro, and radish contain up to 40 times higher levels of vital nutrients than their mature counterparts.
🌱 For example, red cabbage microgreens had 40x more vitamin E and 6x more vitamin C than mature red cabbage. Cilantro microgreens had 3x more beta-carotene than mature cilantro.
🌱 and let’s not forget that PURPLE color!!! Anthocyanins — members of the flavonoid group of phytochemicals, a group predominant in teas, honey, wines, fruits, vegetables, nuts, olive oil, cocoa, and cereals. Good for:
💟free-radical scavenging + antioxidant
💟protection from DNA cleavage, estrogenic activity (altering development of hormone-dependent disease symptoms), enzyme inhibition, boosting production of cytokines (thus regulating immune responses), lipid peroxidation, decreasing capillary permeability and fragility, and membrane strengthening ... •
Switch out that spinach for these purple beauties for lunch this week!

All my holistic training was completed all in the aid of supporting my son, this was important to me because we had been ignored by drs and the health professionals when he was a toddler. Mother's instinct was so strong that I couldn't ignore it too.
There's not a product that I used in isolation, however CBD oil and essential oils have made a massive impact aside from dietary changes/gut healing. As well as nature therapy which I covered a few posts ago. (Same for my daughter)
With all this in place it's been easier to apply behavioural strategies and boundaries which he will adhere to.
I found that the most important piece to this whole puzzle is the health of the parent. I need time out, I need to meditate, eat properly and have a decent sleep routine. My cup needs to be full so I can help him as he needs it. #autismmum#autismfamily#guthealing#essentialoils#adhd#sensoryprocessing#neurodiversekids#deafkidsrock#deafkidsarecool#nosecondclasscitizens

Such a good combo....bacon, avocado and egg!! Happy Sunday 😁
Guys, I really love my job. 💩
My personal wellness journey plus a genuine fascination with the human body - its genius, its potential, its adaptability - led to an unexpected career, and the best job I’ve ever had. I don’t think being a Colon Hydrotherapist is something someone grows up wanting to be... but I couldn’t be more proud of and excited about my work. I’m so grateful to be a part of so many journeys towards gut health, glowing skin, strengthened immunity, strong bowels, and overall healthier, happier lives. It’s the shit. 🤗
With all of these “back to nature” diet fads circulating, we are forgetting a basic truth: our digestive systems were simply not designed to be working 24/7, and that’s precisely what’s happening in 2019. This collection of bags and tubes in or abdomen was meant to process maybe a meal a week... walking and moving for hours and hours outdoors every day, maybe grabbing a handful of berries or a piece of fruit when we found it... every once in a while we’d catch a rabbit or a fish... fresh water and constant motion... the majority of our lives, we were fasting. That’s simply not what we are up to these days.
Add to that, most of what folks are eating anymore isn’t even food... we must also factor in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the meds we’re taking, the stress we are under, and much more. There’s nothing natural about the way we live. Why do we punish our bodies for not keeping up...?
Let’s keep it simple. Do you have a colon? If the answer is yes, you should clean it. Yes, even if you poop once a day. Yes, even if you’ve been vegan for a hundred years. Yes, even if you’re nervous. Yes, even if you “feel fine”. With all that we ask of our elimination system in the face of the modern world, it’s the very least you can do to assist and alleviate.
And let’s be real: who doesn’t appreciate a really good dump? It’s a day maker. 😉

What do you eat at a weekend summit of 10 integrative practitioners brainstorming how to revolutionize healthcare and inspire the field of medicine back into a sustainable healing art based on human empowerment rather than just “sick-care,” drugs, and financially motivated reactionary “treatment”?? .
.Well, you end up eating the world’s most delicious plant bowls! 🍲 We had Ayurvedic mung bean kitchari bowls with 🥑 avocado, sauerkraut, kimchi, red and green cabbage, roasted zucchini, 🥕 carrots, beets, 🍠 sweet potato, almond yogurt taziki with cucumber🥒/lemon & garlic, kale🥬, chard, spinach, chive, mint, dandelion greens, cilantro, maiktaki mushrooms🍄, and seaweed. I can’t quite describe how delicious these were, or how deeply inspired I was by the conversations throughout the weekend. I feel profoundly grateful to have been invited by @conscious.metabolism. .
Our group included 10 women whose paths have crossed in fascinating ways over the past decade, all gathering on a lavender farm in Oregon to exchange ideas: we were a general surgeon, a bariatric surgeon, an ENT surgeon turned Functional Medicine physician, an architect with expertise in “sick building syndrome,” a lymphatic therapist, an acupuncturist/Chinese medicine practitioner, a mental health practitioner, an herbalist, a primary care nurse practitioner, a Naturopathic physician, and an RN who is also a Reiki energy healer & hospital administrator. .
We discussed multimodal approaches to clinical cases, food as medicine, disease reversal, built environments and their effect on health, technology, health care financing, intentional living, mental health, and a way forward from the epidemic of chronic preventable illness that is ravaging our country, and much more... exciting things to come!
There's nothing quite like a good bone broth to warm you up and heal your gut. We love this recipe from @viasanawellness 🤗 #repost
CHICKEN BONE BROTH SOUP⠀
Makes 8 cups⠀
3-5 pounds of soup bones*⠀
Water (enough to cover the bones)⠀
1 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar⠀
*NOTE: ask at your local butcher shop. Soup bones are usually very cheap.⠀
In the stock pot, cover your soup bones with enough water to cover. Add apple cider vinegar. Bring to a boil, and then reduce to a simmer for 24+ hours.⠀
After about 24 hours, strain the stock into mason jars. Set them in the fridge to cool. Skim off the fat that rises to the top, and close tightly with a lid, or put in ice cube trays for quick use. The broth can be stored in your refrigerator for a few days, or for four to six months in the freezer.⠀
BENEFITS OF BONE BROTH FOR GUT HEALTH & DIGESTION⠀
Studies show that gelatin is beneficial for restoring strength of the gut lining and fighting food sensitivities. It also helps with the growth of probiotics (good bacteria) in the gut and supports healthy inflammation levels in the digestive tract.⠀
Bone broth stock is easily digested and soothing to the digestive system, unlike many other foods, which can be difficult to fully break down. After all, a food is really only useful if we have the means of absorbing its nutrients.⠀
Studies have found that in individuals with digestive imbalances, serum concentrations of collagen are decreased. Because the amino acids in collagen build the tissue that lines the colon and entire gastrointestinal tract, supplementing with collagen can support healthy digestive function.⠀
Bone broth is rich in minerals that support the immune system and contains healing compounds like collagen, glutamine, glycine and proline and is rich in essential amino acids. It is a nutrient powerhouse. The original superfood. ⠀
Have you tried our Turmeric Wellness Blend yet? We drink a scoop a day religiously as a hot morning tonic to help with digestion, inflammation, promote glowing skin, boost your immune system and so much more! Doing something that’s good for you every day is one of the simplest forms of self-love. 💛

The role of nutrition in the prevention of illness is widely acknowledged. However, the power of nutrition to naturally support the body to heal / recover from illness, is less accepted and often comes with a degree of scepticism. 🌱 Food is much more than just food... it’s your health, it’s how you feel, it’s how you look and it’s how you function. 🌱 Let’s not forget that many foods & herbs were traditionally used as medicines. In fact they still are in third world countries where modern medicine is unavailable!
There are 3 phases to the use of nutritional therapy:
1. The Prevention Phase - you use nutrition to support your body to function at optimum health, you minimise the risk of illness.
2. The Symptoms Phase - you start to experience symptoms (the body’s messengers telling us something’s up), you cleverly seek the support of a nutritional therapist to help you find the root cause of symptoms and naturally eliminate the problem, stopping progression to the sick phase.
3. The Sick Phase - you are now sick so medical intervention has become necessary. Nutritional therapy can significantly help with recovery at this stage too, but must be carefully considered by a qualified & experienced nutritional therapist, as there are now often complex multi-factorial causes and numerous contraindications to consider. .
It’s amazing isn’t it, just how powerful nutrition is?! Many people don’t seek help at phase 2 because often at that point symptoms are manageable. Maybe you’re just bloated a lot, a bit of IBS the doc said, or maybe it’s heavy periods, or eczema ... but just remember that symptoms are there to tell us something is up. Seek help to get to the root of your symptoms, before phase 2 becomes phase 3. ———————

If you get heartburn after meals, taking a dropper of bitters before you eat can help remedy the problem. Heartburn is caused by too little stomach acid (yes, too little!) and bitters help stimulate stomach acid production to keep heartburn at bay.
Too little stomach acid means your body can’t breakdown or use the nutrients in your food so you can see how this can become a huge problem long-term!
You can get these organic bitters over on Amazon, at our office (@biodynamicwellness ), or at some health food stores.
If you want to read more details about why stomach acid is good for you, natural ways to increase it and how to get rid of heartburn, bloating, indigestion, etc. tap the link over on my profile page.
Can this warm weather stay forever please?! All these nice days have definitely put me in smoothie mode and I’ve got a gut friendly/low FODMAP option for you!
The main ingredients to your smoothie should be protein+fiber+healthy fat to keep you feeling full and satisfied. My protein option for this smoothie was to use @fairlife milk because it’s lactose free and super high in protein (13g in one cup!). If you’re dairy-free, you can always use a non-dairy milk and add a scoop of protein powder (I like @vitalproteins). Fiber comes from my berries, zucchini and flaxseed meal. My healthy fat comes from my peanut butter and my milk (I used 2%). •
If you’re following the Low FODMAP diet, stick to the portion sizes given to keep your FODMAPs low. Otherwise, feel free to play around with the amounts! •
-1/2 cup strawberries 🍓 -1/2 cup raspberries -1/3 cup zucchini -1 cup lactose free milk 🥛 -1 tbsp peanut butter 🥜 -1 tbsp flaxseed meal •
1. Using a high power blender (I use a @vitamix ), add liquid first, followed by the other ingredients.
2. Top with frozen raspberries. Enjoy!
