This was a pretty memorable one. Client wanted split-coil push pull on the humbucker pickups but both of the stock humbucker pickups came with only 2-wires! (You need the 4-conductor wires to be able to ground one side of the magnets)
Me “Your pickups only have 2-conductor wires.”
Client “Damn, I really wanted split coils.”
Me “I can make them 4-conductor wires”
Client “Wtf really?! Can do for me?”
Me “I wasn’t asking whether you wanted it. I was telling you I‘m gonna do it from the start.”
I wished the process of converting it to 4-wires was as suave as the conversation above LOL. Had to open up the pickup, remove the wax to reveal the wires, desolder this, solder that blah blah blah before it finally became a 4-wire humbucker 😵. Even more jialat was that I had to repeat everything for the second humbucker 🤦🏻♂️Fun Times nevertheless.
Tone is like the voice of a guitarist. Do whatever it takes to find the one that you wanna sing with!
Attempting to #diy your own parts-caster is admirable, but you should practice your soldering on scrap first. Every solder joint was cold or outright bad in this client's guitar. Enjoy the before and after shots! .
P.S. Yes, I'm FMIC certified and can make your guitar look this good too 😉

BEYOND excited to start working on my biggest project to date. A good friend of mine dropped off this hand made family heirloom to get tuned up and ready to play! It may not be much of a looker, but it means a lot to someone, and I'm honored to be the one to make it playable once again
When all is said and done I'll have the bridge, machine heads, pot, input jack and hopefully (if I can actually make one) a new nut. I'll more than likely be posting my progress as I go for those who are interested!
Also if you live in the Bismarck/mandan area and are in need of a quick tune-up, set up, or minor repair, hit me up! I can fix most problems that aren't too extreme (I cant do refrets, neck scalping, or anything crazy) all it takes is a message, quick description of the problem and a few photos for good measure, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

🇬🇧 The knives of the #FloydRose on my #WashburnN7 were worn out since the day I got it, probably because of the shipping. I never took the time to treat this issue before but I was getting really tired of the tremolo not returning to its zero point every time I touched it. So I sharpened the damaged knives with files, and the trem works just fine!
This fucker of a fret had better be stuck down when I get into work tomorrow!! Suspect it’s been tapped down a few times and the fret slot got a bit damaged. Filled the slot with thin CA glue and rosewood dust, then re cut the slot. Felt snug going in..... #jcguitarsuk#guitarrepair#12thfret#fretjerk#jerkfret

Installed a new set of @seymourduncanpickups Custom Floor pickups in this PRS S2 Standard. Pickups are hot, articulate, and ready to shred! Also did a fresh set up for drop tuning. #shredfordays

* Fixing a Takamine pickup system. It produces beautiful sound, but the concept is a little overcomplicated. The shielding of the pickup is working only if the string action adjusting screw is tight, so the saddle pushes down the piezo housing enough to keep the ground connection solid. If not, hum is the result. It's not really fair, that there is no clear sign, how not to use the action adjusting screw, I think it's not right to expect every musician to understand the electronics concept to avoid hum. The parts also needed a good cleaning due to their age.
A reparar uma lasca no fretboard deste P-Bass. O match das madeiras não é o mais correcto, mas na verdade nota-se mais na foto do que a olho nú.
Repairing a chip on the fretboard of a P-Bass. The wood match is not the greatest, but it was what I had on hand. To be fair, it looks better in person than in the pics.
