The beautiful Sunflower🌻.They face east at dawn and their faces follow the sun throughout the day until they face west at dusk. They are so magical. They curiously extract toxic ingredients from the soil they’re in. Not only can the plants draw up lead and arsenic, but they were used after the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl to draw up the radioactive chemicals cesium, uranium, and strontium. Mother Nature heals her planet through her creations.
It’s no surprise that the Sunflower is associated with warmth, positivity, power, strength, and happiness since it bears such a strong resemblance to the Sun itself. I snagged the pic of these beauties this afternoon where I spent the day with family and new friends learning about Nonviolent Communication (NVC) lead by @altinholt
NVC is the integration of consciousness, language, communication, and means of influence. Being in the mountains, on a wildly sunny day, in the company of lovely humans developing our major tool in life was one of the most beautiful moments in time. Wishing you love this Sunday.
Showing my babies today where food comes from. No, not out of the bag, kai not from the supermarket🤦♀️ our people back in the days would plant crops fish and dive for kaimoana. Live off the land. And in every instance give back to Papatuanuku and only take what we need to feed from Tangaroa. There were Karakia or prayers of thanks for all that the land and sea had provided for our people and in turn our people became kaitiaki. Guardians of our whenua, ngahere, moana etc. So yes my small step in that directions is showing my babies how to respect and love our when a (land) fight for it with a passion because it has been here for us since forever. Our people had the best way of life. Let's bring back there ways ♡🌱🍉🍋🥒🥦🌽🍅🍓
Greetings from Estonia, Old Town!
It's really true when they say that you will only get to know a person when you travel with them.
This year I promised myself that I would start travelling. I promised myself to start exploring the world and to get to know different cultures and people.
There are lessons everyone must learn about life that you only learn by travelling. Lessons like how big this world is and how insignificant a human being is compared to it.
Why the world is the way it is?
How cultures can be different and how amazing it is to share experiences with friends from all over the world even though you do not share the same culture or skin color.
“You owe yourself the same love you so freely give to others.” .
Self love is the catalyst to change. Loving yourself enough to put yourself first to heal, grow, learn, and let go of everything holding you back from being your best version of you.
Homemade Israeli middle eastern cuisines we grew up eating 🇮🇱 This week we will be featuring recipes from all these middle eastern classics! We'll start off with the first recipe of our homemade pita!
Pita bread: combine 2 cups of flour, 1/2 a teaspoon of himalayan pink salt, and about 2-3 cups of water depending on the thickness you like. Stir together and then pour the batter by thinning it out on a hot pan with olive oil so it coats the whole bottom of the pan. Flip when golden brown, should be around 3 minutes on each side. Then cut into triangles!
For dipping, we made:
madboocha (salsa-like dish), babaganoosh (eggplant dip), hummus (chickpea dip), and schug (spicy green sauce). Stay tuned for the recipes! 😜

🌅 // growth 🌱
its hard to admit to myself sometimes that this journey has taken so long, and yet i am still so far away from where i thought i would be 🌥
despite how discouraging it is to have been unwell for so long, in those years i have done a lot of growing / learning / recovering / living, and yeah most days it’s easy to dismiss those victories because there is still so far to travel, but in the years i’ve been unwell i have accomplished things i never thought possible for me, seen and done some pretty incredible things, lived through some utterly amazing moments, and met some of the most kind, beautiful, and generous people you could imagine 💛
and though it is disheartening that there is still such a long way to go and i am not where i thought i would be, i am still trying, still growing, still living, and still hoping to overcome these difficulties, many, many years later 🌷

Lemme drop some super sweet knowledge on yo asses.
All to often I see these pumped up dudes and gals in the weight room tryna build them wings(lats) so they can fly away someday. But they are killing their potential with half ass rows... standing damn near upright and trying to pull three plates.. stop it. Lol. Just stop.
Let's take it back to the classic days with the the great Oak; MR. Arnold himself. Take a look and study his methods and how he did his rows.. the dude stood on a bench and did relatively light weight for his shape, and theres a reason for that.
It's all about that big stretch and deep contraction of those lats and the smaller secondary upper posterior muscles. Lowering your body position and back as to be parallel or lower than the ground, and allowing the bar to damn near touch your toes. Now I'm swinging a little bit in this video, but this was my 7th set on rows so please bear with me. With that being said the goal is to control the weight and fight the urge to use momentum. -
