Had to make a list of all the major projects coming up in school, because it's too hard to conceptualize the amount of time I need to dedicate to each one otherwise... It's still pretty hard to conceptualize it, but at least with this list I can not COMPLETELY forget about any of them (anyone else have a reoccurring nightmare where you didn't go to a class you signed up for all semester because you forgot about it and then you realized on the day of the final test that you actually are going to fail the whole class? Well, that basically happened to me irl back in college, so it's a legitimate fear apparently!)... We have SO many projects, it's a little overwhelming. This is all in addition to weekly readings and homework of course. 😓 I'm trying to just stay calm and keep chipping away at it all! I need to allocate time to each project on my calendar, but I don't know how much time to spend on each one...
Today was a good reminder of the importance of taking time to hang with friends, even when life is crazy. @senorhend and I met while getting our Master’s in Spanish in 2011. Today I probably would have stayed in to work on grad school round 2, but Corey forced me out. I came back feeling refreshed and ready to conquer my insane to-do list, proving that you’re always more effective if you take a break. Here’s to making time for fun and la amistad! #gradschoollife#selfcare#worklifebalance#middlove#amigosparasempre
Y’all know I love yoga.. but I may love these balanced workouts even more 😍
This workout program is not something I would have typically done... which is exactly why I wanted to do it! This journey has been all about trying new things and pushing myself and my body. And boy am I glad I am pushing myself to do this program! It is seriously testing me MENTALLY even more than PHYSICALLY, which is saying a lot 😅
When you realize your health and fitness is about SO much more than a number on a scale or on a pair of pants, you can’t be help but be grateful as heck that God pushed you toward this beautiful journey 🙏🏼
Started my last full semester of grad school this week. Only 4 classes stand between me and my MBA. 🎉😱🙌🏻. It’s been such a wild and exciting ride so far—now I’ve just gotta survive 9 credits this Spring Semester. #herewego#messiahcollege#mba#gradschoollife
When you have multiple plates spinning simultaneously, and attempting to eat the proverbial elephant piece by manageable piece. (Enough metaphors? Lol.) Red To-Do board = Grad School. Blue = the clinic. Black = the school where I work. Next, I need to color-code my planner and my desk calendar, too, correspondingly. Now, it's time to READ, STUDY, TAKE QUIZZSS, DO HOMEWORK, PLAN and BE PRODUCTIVE!!!!!!! #gradschoollife#allineedisamiracle
We were supposed to go out of town this weekend but my sweet hubby, @dadhdad12 is hard at work! #gradschoollife
So we decided to stay home & my mama came to visit instead!! ❤️ Thanks for driving all this way-we love you!! 😊

Not pictured: even more excellent dance moves, many confused faces on the treadmill and magical KT tape ✨✨
What if (some of) the moral intuitions that we (sometimes) feel turn out, upon reflection, to be unjustified? That's a question with which I've been grappling for a while. I'm actually attempting to answer it in a paper one which I'm currently working; it's not directly related to my PhD research, so I'm writing it outside of office hours (like here, now, on a Saturday). I've almost finished it, which feels great. I just need to wrap up the last section, in which, among other things, I'm drawing on something that Heath suggests in Enlightenment 2.0, which is why I'm keeping it close at hand. I'm sorry that I cannot share more at this point (trust me, I'd love to go caption-happy and write it all out here), but I promise I'll share more when I can. 🤓
Raise your hand if you hate unpacking 🙋🏼♀️😂⠀
After traveling for work this week, it’s SO nice to be back home! Traveling used to stress me out SO MUCH because I’d worry that I was gonna gain 10 pounds from all the “vacation food.” But not this time! Don’t get me wrong, I definitely enjoyed some great food while I was out! But I made the commitment to myself to stick with my workouts and nutrition 100% on this trip and I’m proud to say I totally did! (AND Jordan did too 😘)⠀
It was so refreshing to wake up this morning and not feel that post-travel bloat. I don’t feel like I need to “make up for” what I ate on the trip, and I didn’t miss a single workout while I was gone!⠀
Tbh I can’t take all the credit though. It’s mostly thanks to Jordan’s accountability AND the motivation and encouragement from the girls in my fitness community! They are such a freaking blessing!⠀
Now to spend my entire day unpacking, cleaning, and getting my life back in order 😂⠀
(PS As of today Jordan has OFFICIALLY lost 60lbs 😘🎉)

Seminar at Pune made for such an interesting session especially with research overlap on perspective of tribes and borderlands with Dr Raile Rocky Ziipao.
Thank you Smitana for envisioning it.
Rocky elaborated on the perspective from within and territorialization of the frontier regions in the eastern corridor and I was able to highlight identity making and cross border displacement on the western frontiers of India. #phdlife#professorsofinstagram#firstseminarasfaculty
I brought in the new year incredibly sick with bronchitis (ain’t nobody got time for that!). I also had a mini-nervous breakdown since I just started fieldwork in my last year of grad school last week. But, yesterday I had the pleasure of sharing our second round of research at ABAI in San Francisco which makes working full time, going to school full time, honing my skills as a therapist, and contributing to the field of autism research so, so worth it. For anyone who wants to have a riveting conversation about the landscape of sexual knowledge for adults with autism, holla at ya girl 💁🏽♀️ #abai#autism#allworknoplay#research#disabilityawareness#autismawareness#gradschoollife

Windy, cold day means I don’t want to get up. My two furbabies are keeping me warm. I do need to get up and start my homework. My grad school classes started back this week. Trends and Practices in School Libraries and Digital Citizenship are my two classes this semester.
I’ve started a new short story. I’ve got a fun character in this one. I’m only half finished with it though.
It’s always tricky to get back into a routine at the start of a new semester #gradschoollife Last semester Pat and I had “salmon Mondays” where we made dinner together (usually salmon, we’re super creative with names 😂), but this year we’ve switched it up to Tuesdays. I have a feeling salmon is still going to be a staple though...this week was blackened salmon salad with kale, diced yellow bell pepper, avocado, goat cheese, pumpkin seeds, and @traderjoes almond butter turmeric dressing. To make the salmon we tossed it in a little avocado oil and lemon juice, sprinkled some blackened seasoning on top, then baked at 400 for 10-15 mins (depending on how thick the fillets are). Would definitely recommend this combo if you’re looking for homemade dinner ideas!
