Week 8 folded ankle/hairline fracture update - I am rolling/rehabilitating friends!
I have found that long distance high speed manuals (25-50mph-100 yards-3 miles at a time) are essentially drawn out isometric *sends* that help the strengthening of my right ankle (that I completely folded twice and broke once last year).
This “bunny slope” at Poods has become a particular favorite of mine for ankle rehabilitation.
I am still in an ankle brace on my bottom foot.
That being said folks I am in need of TWO very important things!
1- A drone operator!
2- CBD/Skateboarding/youth/mentalhealth sponsors/investors/collaborators
It was fun, but not the best thing that happened. After showing up, we could see the neighbors peeking at us through their windows. Showing up with a car full of longboarding gear, people are usually just curious, although occasionally aggravated. Before long, all the kids from the neighborhood came outside to sit on their lawns and watch me skate their hill. See them wave back to me at 0:23 - I spoke with one of their grandparents who was also standing outside watching. I asked to make sure I wasn't disturbing their neighborhood on the quiet Sunday afternoon. On the contrary, she said! They were actually glad to see me up there, because it drew the kids out of the house, away from the TV and their computers! Soon, the kids brought their own skateboards and mountainbikes from their garages to join the fun! It reminded me of when I was younger, learning to longboard - exploring new neighborhoods with MY friends. You'd watch the older guys with absolute amazement, as they made things that looked impossible seem easy. It would fire us up, inspiring us to keep pushing ourselves. I still get those feelings today, watching the people that inspire me. •
I'll definitely be coming back here to teach my new neighborhood of friends to skate 🤙
