So last night this happened! I performed alongside some incredibly talented people and it was an absolute honour to share a stage with them all. We all had the pleasure of performing for a true burlesque legend @mzsatansangel who joined us at the show via video link.
I was so overwhelmed to be chosen by Angel as her Tassel Off Queen alongside the wonderful Audience Choice Winners @deedeedammed and captainmayhem who blew me away with their double act.
There have been tears and a lot of sleep after an emotionally fuelled show. The All stars were incredible to watch and share a stage with. It was a show full of community, support and love and my soul is in a very good place today.
Thank you to everyone who has made this weekend so wonderful and congratulations to @msmorningstar and all her helpers for putting on such a fantastic festival.
The final thanks has to go to my wonderful, loving and supportive partner @beta_stu for everything he does to support me. I couldn't do it without you.
All the love ❤❤❤ #goodforthesoul#overwhelmed#satansangel#thequeenofqueens#honoured#burlydreams#leedsburlesqueandcabaretfestival#tasselofffinal#burlesque#love#support#community#amazingpeople
Ever feel like God speaks so loud sometimes?
That was me on Friday. He was telling me to take a break from social media... First loud call to action was when Corbin looked over at me during breakfast and said "its phones!" Both Tyler and I were scrolling on our phones 😔
The second time I was trying to read a comment on a FB post and my internet was acting weird and kept showing a 'comment when offline' question. Hmmmm offline. 🤔
Third time was when anxiety creeped back in and I was close to another attack. Screen time can stress you out unknowingly and I feel here lately its physically putting me on edge. 💥
And the last time, I was looking for a podcast to listen to and the first one I see is entitled social media heart check. I mean, it was time to disconnect and be present. 👌
So, that's what I did. Only checked my phone to make sure no one needed me and left it on the charger in the other room. Checked again at nap time and then once before bed. 👊
It was a very freeing weekend. I used to look at my phone first thing in the morning and scroll endlessly. What good does that do? Yall, my eyes even felt so much better! Seriously. I was so much more present with the kids, I felt lighter, I listened to worship music and danced instead of scrolling and did so many other things (kitchen cleaned, couch washed, sheets washed, laundry done, a morning walk, visit to the science center etc.) It was the best for my anxiety and my soul. 💕
Do yourself a favor and just step back a little. Don't go all cold turkey and delete apps. Just make it a point to do it less. Baby steps. Also, go listen to God Centered Mom Podcast: Social Media Heart Check and thank me later. ✌
I pretty consistently eat out of Tupperware containers most days...
But every once in a while I decide to get all fancy and put it on a plate! Haha
Shakshuka over Cauliflower Rice...LOVE the added flavor from the kalamata olives!
Seems most people either LOVE or DESPISE olives haha which side do you fall on?
Taking in the views from the top of Aspen Highlands after the hike up, circa 2014 (my first year in the mountains). When you ski/ride every day, you can get really good really fast. You too could be climbing up 12,000'+ peaks and skiing down them in just a few short months. Never underestimate yourself, you got this.
