I swear I had the cutest model on my hands at this photo session. If all kids hammed it up for me this much during my sessions, I would be taking photos for hours! 😍 Loved 💕 it! Photos of their cute family coming later on!
The first time I was offered a monetary payment for my photos as an independent contractor, I asked questions about the contract regarding ownership as well as method of tracking project time because it fell within my then current position at the company but not a role I played for the company. Soon it became clear miscommunication and circumstances had placed this discussion in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the contract was withdrawn and I never did sign it because I wanted full rights to the ownership of my photos especially some sunset photos (coming soon).
So, no success doesn't happen overnight, but lots of training, education, and experience help. I've never stopped learning. Granted I only graduated with a four-year degree five months ago, I think it's essential when a person gets bored: with their job they quit and find something new, with their pass time reading topic they quit and pick a new topic, and with a now old interest take that crash course training that piqued interest because one of the most valuable things you and only you will possess is your mind. There isn't another mind like your own. That's what put me ahead of the company, I understood the legalities due to a number of circumstances and I knew the desired lighting would require abnormal work hours. Know your craft and hone your craft. Don't make a bad decision. And when you do or feel defeated don't let a withdrawn contract deem you worthless. This just wasn't the right one.
Featured photo was suppose to a part of the company's collection. California's Central Valley Cotton in July during the golden hours.
I call this look “dog walk chic”
Wellies are not optional for this cardio!!
The puppies and I are making the most of the dry days with some extra long walks in the country side. I always leave my phone at home so I can detach completely and appreciate the fresh air!
