I didn’t make it to my 5 am work out because I was too cozy in bed on our day off for our 5 year anniversary! I know I’m probably going to eat some foods not on my diet so the least I can do is get my exercise in. My wonderful husband got me a Brobe recovery robe for our anniversary and I am so excited I can’t wait until March when I meet with the surgeons so I can decide who I trust for my tummy tuck and breast augmentation!! Nothing is more powerful than experience, and nothing is more powerful than putting meditation into all that you do. The gurus say first you must learn meditation, then you must forget it. I felt like I did that, so years ago I let it go. Today I turn around to find its not there anymore, and although there is quality in my work, growth in my business, and abundant successes in my life, fear festers that it will all crumble. My mind races like white water rapids. I look for a branch. Small things get under my skin. Mindless idiots in the street - my shoulders tense up as if ready to raise a hand. So I take time to recalibrate and make sure my compass continues to guide me to my North Star - towards the dreams and freedoms I desire. Thankfully I have the support of a handful of friends in a mastermind group and this book we have as a reference point for our weekly meetings.
On the diligence required to attain personal freedom: “This kind of diligence reminds us that personal power is directly tied to personal responsibility, which most people avoid. Tracking your calories can be a very important success key to your fitness goals. It’s as simple as this equation, calories in=calories out. You can dissect that equation and understand what it means, but the problem is if you don’t track your calories, how do you know how much you’re consuming?
You can put the numbers in your head all you want, but we all know we are not going to count those potatoes chips, those small cookies, that ice cream on a cone those baby candies. Let’s be honest who would? That’s a lot of work.
You wouldn’t need to track them though if you didn’t eat them right?🤨but that’s beyond the point. As much as tracking your calories every single day can be a drag, you should know what your intake is compared to how much more you are over your intake or even less. Tracking your calories should be a goal for the day and here’s a way to do it:
VISUAL MOTIVATION-write down a piece of paper, sticky note, your hand, or even type it in your reminders that you will. Put it somewhere you can see it so you can remind yourself to track those calories. This will bring you one step closer to your fitness goals. Share this with one of your followers and even though they this isn’t true, it’s all about the numbers baby🔢
So it begins...girl scout cookie season! My daughter really is learning some good skills: talking to customers, finding out what they like, setting goals. Useful even if she chooses never to sell anything when she grows up. Were you ever a girl scout?

Look, I’ve worked shit jobs In the food industry, in construction, and in sanitation and I know what the difference looks like. Two types of people: you either know you’re better than your situation and will move on eventually, or you think this is all you deserve and stay put.
#dreaming is fine and dandy, but the #execution will be what separates achievers in the beginning stages of #success from people that only ever dream.
It all starts with the #story going on in your head. .
Whatever you believe about yourself will play out in your behavior. So, believe you’re capable of more. .
Cable Lateral Raises ➡️➡️
Lateral Raises are definitely a must in your routine if you wanna directly hit those Side Delts(Shoulders). —
I prefer using cables over dumbbells for these because it allows constant tension throughout the movement. Whereas with a dumbbell, resistance peaks at the top of the movement(when the dumbbells are parallel with the shoulders) but then you don’t feel much tension as you lower the dumbbells to your side.
With that said, I do Cable Lateral Raises on one “Push Day Workout” and Dumbell Lateral Raises on the other just for variety sake and to provide a variety of stimulus/tension.
Tip: Step over the cable so you’re hitting the Side Delts at a more direct angle as opposed to lifting the cable in front or behind you. I prefer to slightly bend my elbow cause I feel it more directly instead of keeping my arms completely straight. Hope that helps. Peace.

Now (or even earlier, honestly) is right about the time when people start caving on their New Year’s resolutions 👎🏼 I was listening to @msrachelhollis podcast the other day with guest @brendonburchard - they were speaking about how we think of New Years resolutions as a way to stop something that’s bad. He spoke about not setting resolutions to ~fix problems~. That’s reactive, not motivational, and a sure-fire way to fail. Stop thinking about what you need to fix/what sucks/thinking about all your weaknesses all at once. “It doesn’t stick if it’s just a fix.” •
Because you’re not setting a goal and being intentional with where/how you want to grow. Set your goals for where you want to be, not where you’re currently at. So pick back up where you left off, and start today.🌱

Happy Friday!! I’m assuming you have heard, “So what’s your 5-year plan?” Umm well I’m working day-by-day over here!! I have like maybe a year plan because frankly 5 years is sort of unrealistic at this point in life. AND THATS OK! 👌
I am Marie Kondo-ing my goals and train of thought. It looks like a pyramid. Focusing on one (maybe two) long term goals. 6 months it is for me! Breaking it down at a mid-way point as a check in. If you want to be at Z in 6 months you’ve got to make it to N at 3. Them making monthly goals. From this point, you set those aside. Focusing on your weekly and literally you daily goals will keep you sane and not put so much pressure on yourself.
If I can get xyz done today then I’m working towards my goal. .
