🌈 New spaces for a new year 🌍
I introduced some geography concepts to Chloe last May before our trip to Singapore, and we've been building on that ever since - our suburb, city, country, and other countries. We talk about family and friends who live and travel overseas, as well as our own travel plans. I was so excited to pick up a world globe recently to add a great visual and tactile element to our learning experience!
Being a multicultural family has also made me think long and hard about how we will approach history and geography once formal lessons start. Australian history is a given, but we will also be looking at Singapore and the impact and influence of British colonialism. The thing I'm most looking forward to though, is church history - from the early missionary journeys of the apostles through to the Reformation and beyond.
I have had the extreme fortune of being a true global citizen, with the ability to live just about anywhere I want to across this globe.
I dream of a day when not just the select few can have this privilege.
I dream of a day where there are no borders, where there are no walls.
I dream of a day where EVERY child in this WORLD has the opportunity to rise above circumstance and carve out the life that is deserved.
The world isn’t done growing, it’s going to get so much better than this.
And I pledge to help it get there. x
Let's start the week off with some inspiring humor,
Being negative only makes a difficult journey more difficult. You may be given a cactus, but you don't have to sit on it! 🌵😆🌵 Be positive in your thinking and actions! Visit our website and #JoinTheMagic with us. Just click the link in our bio!
Receiving a wake up call and lets grab coffee!
It was awesome to meet an old school friend, a visionary and a global #entrepreneur.
loving his energy!
believing in oneself and knowing your capability to break the #boundary.
Dare to be #different
We are becoming a #globalcitizen
I’m not interested in rules.
It doesn’t feel good when I try to put myself into containers designed by someone else.
It makes me question who I am and what I know my purpose to be.
The thing about rules is that everyone is trying to impose them on you- and how do you know whose rules are the “right” rules?!?!? You could bend over backwards trying to live up to someone else’s idea of how to live your life, run your business, be in love.... And then come to find out that the people who uphold these templates are idiots.
To put it mildly.
Seriously, whose expectations and guidelines are you following?
Have you thought about that?
Had a great call this morning about @chimeforchange. I’m so excited about what’s to come and it brought back some awesome memories of @salmahayek and I learning some dance moves from Kenyan Boys Choir at #globalcitizen
