I remember the first time I ever walked into a gym. I had no clue how to use machines or free weights. So I quit going and eventually cancelled my membership. Plus I was embarrased to even show up because I was so overweight. I know I'm not alone in this.
I started doing at home fitness to shed some pounds. At least this way nobody would laugh at me for being uncoordinated and out of shape.
Now I love going to the gym. I love picking up free weights. My at home fitness classes taught me all the moves, and proper form when lifting weights.
It didnt happen overnight. It wasn't easy. Nothing worth having is. If you want something you've never had, then you have to be willing to go outside your comfort zone, put the EXCUSES aside and work for it. There is no magic pill. Becoming a coach and starting at home fitness was the best decision I ever made. I spent the last money in our checking account (Ken can attest to this) and I've never looked back. So drop the I can't afford it excuse and instead say I'm not willing to spend money on my health, my future if that's your play.
They told me this was gonna be a good time 😅, my arms felt like they were gonna pop... -
ARX is no joke for real, John took me and @body_by_driskill through a killer full body workout and I was sore for like 3 days 😂
If you ever want to try it out let me know. He loves to watch people suffer, and the workout is super quick and effective. Just hit me up!.
My workout the past couple days... painting! OMG! I'm sore everywhere from going up and down ladders, squatting for hours, moving furniture, looking up, weird Pilates poses to reach odd areas where I couldn't really get the ladder, static holds keeping a steady hand to trim (I don't tape) Lol 😂. I'm beat! I can barely move! Painted 3 rooms, several doors walls and trim, so a very productive couple of days, but tomorrow I'm chilling. I was just thinking about how taxing this is. I'm strong and in pretty good shape. This was a marathon weekend of hard work, 16 or so hours a day. How much harder this is for someone who isn't used a lot of physical challenges? 5 years ago, before starting my fitness journey, this would have taken several days for me to do. I just wouldn't have been able to physically handle this much body weight movement required to complete the task. What do you struggle to accomplish in your personal life, and does your fitness level keep you from doing the things you want to do? What are you going to do about it?

For my babes 29th birthday we hit the gym HARD. Grateful for our relationship of pushing each other in the gym and in LIFE. HBD to my best friend @marcusperryfitness .
We did 2 rounds of:
29 cal skierg
29 reverse lunges
29 KB swings .
We finished it off with 29 seconds sprint, 5 times in a row 🤯 .
Song: Bamboo @p_lo .
Saturday morning pull up practice .
If you are persistent you will get it, if you are consistent, you will keep it
To be able to do unassisted pull ups has always been one of my biggest goals and until a couple of years ago, I couldn’t even pull myself up once. Constant practice, with bands and cables has meant it has become second nature now
If you want to do something, reach for it... patience and persistence are key 💫

TAKING THE FIRST STEP... This week in my posts I have been talking all about taking the first step into fitness.
So.. you want to start but it can be daunting even joining the gym! 👀 You then take that big step and join but then you don’t know what to do or where to begin and you end up walking around the gym on your first day lost and feeling embarrassed. 👀 👀 I think we have all felt that at one point in our lives.
The first fitness program I ever made was exactly for these reasons! I want people to feel confident walking around the gym knowing exactly what they are doing and enjoying it 😀💪🏻
My Future Fitness: START is a program I have designed specifically for people who want to take their first step into fitness. Future fitness START has three stages - Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3. All three stages are designed specifically, enabling you to learn, progress and grow in confidence as you go through each stage. you'll feel completely comfortable and at home in the gym in no time!
Here are a few exercises just using a stepper from my start program. Give them a try! 🙌🏻
Check out my videos and post on taking the first step into fitness. 🙋🏻♀️ when you finally discover your confidence, it will feel incredible and change your life! ————————————————————————

SQUATS! Do you struggle hitting full range of motion (getting low enough!) when increasing the weight on your barbell back squats? Everyone has a tendency to start cutting back on depth as the weight gets heavier, and I would attribute this to two things:
1️⃣ Choosing a weight that is too heavy for you to lift with a full ROM (Range of Motion)
2️⃣ Fear of not been able to get back up! 👀
👇🏻 TIPS - so that’s why the box squat is so useful.
BOX SQUATS! The box gives you something to sit back on, and this removes that “bottomless pit” feeling! It also gives you a target to hit, and if you aren’t touching the box you aren’t reaching depth and need to decrease the weight. Practice box squats!
1️⃣ Increases full ROM (range of motion) when lifting a little heavier
2️⃣ Helps with the fear of not been able to get back up.
