Zita & Peter took over ownership of the Yarram Drapery in February this year after moving from Melbourne to Alberton.
They would often stay at their house in Alberton, which they purchased almost 6 years ago. Zita loved to shop at the Yarram Drapery which was formally owned by Helen for 37 years.
Zita & Peter's plan was to eventually retire to the area but Zita, previously an Academic Library Manager at Holmesglen TAFE, knew the business was for sale and at risk of closing if nobody bought it. Zita has a passion for patchwork & embroidery and all things crafty and she was worried that if the business closed then she would have nowhere local to buy her craft supplies! So, Zita spoke to her husband and together they decided they would buy the business and move here sooner, rather than waiting for retirement.
Yarram Drapery is located at 248 Commercial Road, Yarram and specialise in fabric, wool, haberdashery, patterns and crafty bits and bobs but their core business is window coverings, including blinds, drapes and awnings.
Yarram Drapery are a team of four. Zita was so happy that Leanne decided to stay on as part of the Team. Next month will mark 15 years that Leanne has worked at the Drapery, which she says she just loves. Leanne says it doesn’t even feel like coming to work.
Peter is an experienced tradie, with a background in engineering and metal work. He handles the measuring and fitting of the new blinds and drapes, with the able assistance of Ron, who is also experienced in a range of trades.
Zita loves talking to her customers and is amazed at the variety of skill levels and interests they have. She gets a kick out of seeing the finished products when customers come in to show her their completed projects. Zita & Peter are so happy with their move and love the countryside, the lifestyle and the change of pace here in the Guts of Gippsland.

Non toxic Leather Cleaner 🤷♀️Out of leather cleaner or looking for a non-toxic option?
Chances are you have what you need right at home! 🥢Mix together the vinegar and olive oil in a bowl, (The oil and vinegar won't completely come together because the liquids have different densities.) 🍊🍋Add 10 drops of Lemon or Wild Orange Essential OIl
Dip a clean sponge into the homemade cleaner and then gently rub on a small test area of the leather item. 🌞Let dry for 20 minutes.
Working in a circular motion, coat the entire piece, rubbing the cleaner into the leather. Use a clean and towel to gently wipe down the furniture, removing any remaining oil. 😍Enjoy!
Would you have thought about the difference? Some eye conditions in children don't become apparent until they have to read larger amounts of text. Their eyes can become fatigued by having to focus for longer periods of time.
So even if your 5 or 6 year old is not showing signs of any problems as they are learning to read, it doesn't mean that they may not experience difficulties in a couple of years.
If you haven't already, make an appointment for your child for peace of mind. 👁
A little Instagram update.⠀
Firstly they are still flatly denying the rumours that they are testing or planning to launch a native reposting function. It’s disappointing but not surprising, given the numerous apps / Instagram partners that rely on this one feature. Would be pretty mean to pull the rug out from under them. I guess we continue to wait and see...⠀
In other news though, shoppable Stories posts are rolling out worldwide and Instagram is preparing to roll out some new stuff - notably a Shopping Channel within the Explore tab. This would show you products based on your perceived interests and previous taps and searches. It sounds pretty interesting, though pulling Insty further and further away from the channel it once was. ⠀
If you have an online store, you really should be using these tags in conjunction with your Facebook shop. ⠀
Instagram says that every month 90 million profiles are tapping on those shopping tags and Stories usage is at 400 million and climbing. If I had a shop, I’d want a piece of all that action 🙌🏻⠀
If you’re already using shopping tags and have any comments on how it is or isn’t working for you, I would love to hear them. I get such mixed reviews. ⠀
Osteopathy & Children 👫
Osteopathy recognises the strain on the body children experience as they grow from babies to children and provides a gentle treatment approach for children of all ages. We can help with:
➡️ Accidents or falls
➡️ Sports injuries

➡️ Ear infections
➡️ ‘Growing’ pains
➡️ Digestive pains or problems
➡️ Recurrent illness
Osteopathic care can assist the young body to adapt to growth related changes, which can prevent other health problems.
By addressing the physical strains and tensions, the body is able to function optimally and better able to cope with exposure to illness and prevent injury.
