Such a shame not to be taking part in Gion Matsuri this year, but I’ll be thinking of you all and wishing everyone the best possible experience!
Such an honour to be involved last year in such an incredible tradition 💯

At first I drew and then painted this Geisha on a 300g watercolor sheet with a Torchon grain.
Then to give it a little Japanese air, I decided to redo an ornament of flowers, identical to the headdress, with a mix of watercolor and acrylic. Then I stuck everything on the canvas where I painted some of the flowers!

Last year I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph one of the main processions in the Gion Matsuri, Kyoto’s oldest and most renowned festival. Taking place for the entirety of July, don’t miss the festivities across the city from now until the end of the month. I promise it’s worth battling the heat for 🏮⛩❤️
