I had a very impromptu (like less than 60 seconds) conversation with a friend at work yesterday. In that conversation she was telling me what she sees me doing in the future and what she believed I’d be good at, to which I replied “yes, I’d dream to do that one day; I just need someone to invest in me so I can do it.” I saw her wheels spinning, as she struggled with something to say in that moment. I could tell she was clearly searching for the right words of encouragement to follow my dreams. We ended our conversation here.
Fast forward to this morning, as I came to my desk. Tucked on my chair was this book and excerpt from a magazine, no more attached. As I saw the gift and began to read the words on the page I knew clearly who it was from and almost started to cry. It meant something so dear to me. She had found the words without even saying them.
This is the encouragement I needed, silent, but strong. I believe with every ounce of my being this year is going to bring an abundance of blessings to me and my family. I will work hard, push forward and know that I have the support and backings of those very near and dear behind me. This gift today proved it.
I believe one of the best gifts to give or receive is books. I am lucky to have received all three of these from my dear friend @yougotrossed & I can’t wait to dive in deeper to each one! And of course then download with her about them all. Thanks for the gift of reading, Sherri! cc: @reesewitherspoon@joannagaines@markmansonnet
I’ve received some really lovely cards, flowers, body shop goodies and chocs since my operation but these have to be my absolute favourite of the flowers! They make me feel like spring is on its way even though we’ve probably not had the worst of the winter yet 🙈 💐
What’s your favourite flowers?
