Soo.. I made a trip to the Dr office since I haven't been feeling too good. I found out I gained weight 😒 almost the whole wieght I've lost 😤🤦 I'm not gonna sit here & say that I've been doing everything I need to do to reach my goal because that's a lie. Theres no excuse & I won't beat myself up bout it either. The truth is I've been slacking. Is this the end?.. NO! this is MY JOURNEY & I'm a WORK IN PROGRESS 💪 I'm gonna keep pushing until I'm satisfied. Honestly guys, this is real it is hard & it's a constant struggle, but Im not a quitter.
admitting that my feet are kind of cold but I had to take a sec away from my computer & the emails to step outside and just embrace this life and remember that I’m a human being & connected with this big ol universe. Health is so much more than toning your body, it’s being in tune with your SOUL and connecting with this awesome earth & all our fellow humans ✨🌿
You fall, you rise, you make mistakes, you live, you learn. You’re human, not perfect.
You’ve been hurt, but you’re alive. Think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive—to breathe, to think, to enjoy, and to chase the things you love.
Sometimes there is sadness in our journey, but there is also lots of beauty. We must keep putting one foot in front of the other even when we hurt, for we will never know what is waiting for us just around the bend.
A lot of weight lost, but a whole lotta heart and love for myself gained.
IF YOU WANT YOUR LIFE TO BE DIFFERENT, YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT FIRST! 💗🧡
Yesterday marked my last day of my program! It was three weeks of HARD work and dedication. I had the usual struggles of nutrition, mental battles and time management. It’s the DRIVE of wanting to IMPROVE my score, that got me through these last 3 weeks. I’m super excited to show you all my results tomorrow!!
STAY TUNED! 😍
Have you ever thought about the fact that God took 6 days to create everything? I mean, He is all powerful. He could have spoken everything into existence all at once. But He didn’t. Ever wonder why?
I think it’s because He is a God of steps, not leaps. I think He was giving us a model to follow. There is a lesson to be learned.
Do you ever get overwhelmed trying to lose weight? Do you try and change everything about your life all at once to make it happen? Trying to go to the gym 6 days a week for an hour, cutting calories, eliminating all the food you love, and swearing you are just going to have to avoid it forever?
If so, then you are not alone. And it’s probably why you get frustrated so quickly, and ultimately give up. Again.
Don’t do everything all at once. When you rush, you make mistakes. You don’t plan. Your mindset isn’t right. You become overwhelmed, then quit.
Instead, take steps, not leaps! Ease into things, especially when it comes to lifestyle changes. It isn’t an all or nothing thing. Allow yourself to master little things along the way. This will grow your confidence, and make everything more manageable!
What are some steps you can take TODAY that would help you begin your journey?
Have you worked out today? According to the Physical Activity Guidelines from the USDA, adults 18-64 should do at least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) a week of moderate-intensity, or 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) a week of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity, or an equivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity aerobic activity. Aerobic activity should be performed in episodes of at least 10 minutes, and preferably, it should be spread throughout the week. 💃🏃♀️⛹🏻♀️🤾🏻♀️🤸♀️ For additional and more extensive health benefits, adults should increase their aerobic physical activity to 300 minutes (5 hours) a week of moderate-intensity, or 150 minutes a week of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity, or an equivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity activity. Additional health benefits are gained by engaging in physical activity beyond this amount. 🚴♀️🧗🏻♂️🏇🏻🏄♀️⛷🏂🚣🏻♀️🤽🏻♀️🏌️♀️ Adults should also include muscle-strengthening activities that involve all major muscle groups on 2 or more days a week.🏋️♀️💪🏻🧘🏻♀️ -
Little bouts of activity can add up. Take the elevator instead of the stairs, park far away from your building, take a walk at lunchtime around your building, move as much as you can! What did you do today? Let me know below 👇🏻♥️

I got to workout virtually with one of my main girls (who also happens to be one of my coaches on Team Grit + Grace!) this morning, and throughout the workout I kept thinking about one of the quotes on my vision board. “Exercise is a celebration of what the body can do, NOT a punishment for what you ate.” Before I started this journey I certainly didn’t have any sort of consistent routine, and when I would workout I did it mostly for some random body goal I had. To lose my baby love handles before summer. To tone my arms before my wedding. Etc. Now, those goals aren’t bad in and of themselves, but I was far from having a healthy view of exercise! One of the biggest things I’ve learned on this journey so far is to celebrate this gift I’ve been given to get up and move my body. There are so many in the world right now longing to have this ability to exercise so I no longer choose to take this privilege for granted. How amazing is it that I’m able to worship the Lord through the way I care for my physical body and one of my biggest joys is being able to lead other women in learning to celebrate what their bodies can do too 🎉

Life’s not always pretty and today feels like a mess! This are crazy at work! BUT. Thankfully I have my shake to fuel and nourish my body!
Wanna know what my top 5 🖐🏻🖐🏻 Secret Tips to keeping me on track with my health goals and prevent that pesky holiday weight gain??!?? Here you go my #hollyholidayhealthtips 👌🏻👌🏻 1. BE ACTIVE. I know several of us will be in the kitchen cooking away or maybe even traveling... but I would encourage you to wake up earlier than normal and get active! Whether that's going outside for a 20 min run or a spin workout, it will make such a difference. In addition to your morning workout, get outside and do something active during the day. One of the things we’ve done in my family for years is we get out and we play with the little kids or when I was little we used to play some backyard football or basketball...is a great way to have a lot of fun, follow some great tradition and, at the same time, work to not pack on the pounds from some of those extra calories you’re probably consuming Thanksgiving day.
2. FOCUS ON PROTEIN. My family will be cooking up a Turkey and brisket and lots of veggies, which makes it super easy to focus more on quality protein foods and my favorite veggies. 💁🏼💁🏼 So have the turkey piled high, go easy on the gravy, go easy on the stuffing, and add lots of turkey and then lots of good vegetables to your Thanksgiving plate. 👌🏻👌🏻 3. EAT a high protein super power food breakfast! You can bet my mornings will start with a high protein LEAN shake packed full of nutrients! Waking up and having a good, healthy, quality breakfast is going to help keep the weight off.
4. BLOCK and not over indulging. Yep! You can bet I'm for sure taking my Block! 💁🏼💁🏼Most of us will more than likely consume more carbs than usually during our Thanksgiving meals. I plan to not overindulge BUT still will be taking my BLOCK and controlling those carbs and sugars up to 48%. 5. DRINK YOUR WATER!!! Be sure to be drinking water. It's easy to get caught up in conversation or eating that we easily can forget to drink our water. Water is so important to your health, so be sure to be drinking your water y'all!
If you do these things, I'm confident you will keep on track with your health goals and not pack on the extra weight. Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

Falling out of balance doesn’t matter really!
How we deal with that moment and how we find our way back to center, everyday, again and again. That is the practice. It’s about trusting that you will find your way.⠀
What gets you up and moving? Is it weights? Dancing? Cardio? Whatever it is, do it!
The worst thing to do is to do nothing.
I don’t always wake up in time to do an hour long workout. I don’t always want to either.
So on those days, I get up and do Shaun T’s T25 workout. It’s fast and fun and get your heart rate up for a quick workout.
Monday! Time to move! Whose working out today?! Double TAP 💜💜

Oh, how much I love water. Finally got out on an adventure this weekend. Should be doing that more often. 🌊💙🏄🏻♀️ How did you exercise this weekend?
Feeling at home on my mat.
Finding joy in movement.
Tuning out the mental chatter with each inhale and exhale.
Re-learning to love my body for all it can do.
It’s been a while since I’ve felt this way.
But damn, does it feel good.
Snippets from this morning’s home practice (sped up 2x).
If you wanna try it on yourself, come flow with me today at 4:00pm - @corepoweryoga on Winchester.
And for everyone asking - the kitty is my housemate’s. I’m developing an unexpected sweet spot for him but I’m a dog girl through and through... k glad we cleared up that confusion. 🐶>🐱
