It's been quite a crazy transition into university for the last two weeks. I seem to have no time! Time management is definitely required now.
As a little update: I've been running similar mileage (45mpw) but I've not introduced speedwork yet. After stirling I certainly felt strain in both of my achilles so I backed off. The pain seems to be gone now so I'll start doing tempo runs again but at the moment I still need to sort out my routine!
Hope everyone's running is going well!
PrimeTime Sports Performance Trainer Leo explaining and demonstrating the "How's and Why's" of the "Over the Head Medicine Ball Slam". It is done for developing power, strength, and speed. It works best for triceps, abdomen, shoulders, calves, back, glutes, quads, etc. This exercise increases heartbeat and burns a good number of calories. @strengthcoachleo
On the left. Kicking it in is always my favorite part of a race because I feel fast for about 30 seconds!! 🤔😂 I can always pass someone in the chute and for that moment in time I feel good enough to be out there... I see the potential and want more for the next time. #runjourney#5k#gettingfaster#stillslow#weightlossjourney
When my alarm goes off at 4:30am, I do not allow myself to think thoughts like:
“I’m so tired,
it’s too early,
I don’t have to do this.”
I try not to think much at all, only do.
I get up, I put my contacts in, my running clothes on. I breathe deep over my peppermint oil.
Then I think:
I have a job to do. I am hardcore. I am privileged to get to do the hard work to reach my goals.
1 mile warm up to my friend’s gym. 1 hour circuit strength training. 4 mile negative splits. -
I know progress runs are probably a bit boring to some of you....but after yesterday’s early morning yoga, morning sprint session and afternoon aqua aerobics, I didn’t think my legs would want to run today, nevermind knock over 2 mins off last weeks run 👍🏻😀 happy days! Couldn’t do it without my running buddy though!! #running#gettingfaster#progress#pushesme
It's everyday now! I love it! Everyday as i have to walk 1.40 ish km from the busstation to the school. And back later that day, not only that, but my school have 3 floors and i kinda have to climp the stairs.
And this is the outcome. I do more, but normally i don't walk around with my phone on me while im home. So yes I've started to walk alot, but mostly because I have to. But im not sad over it. I actually really Enjoy beeing active before and after school. I can also see a major differencen on my walking speed im getting faster at regular walking pace. I Will slowly get more healthyand get more exercise but im willing to start in the slow and steady.
It is raining so hard here this morning, but it’s Wednesday, so off to the gym I go. I’m working on getting faster running(walking/jogging) so I grabbed an interval walk/jog with @rochellefitnessdance in @aaptiv. Started @charitymiles, and off I went. I wasn’t the fastest I’ve been, but it was the fastest I’ve been since correcting my form, so I’m calling it a win! When perusing the strength workouts today, I saw this one with @mike_fit19 and goodness knows I’m balanced challenged on a good day. I loved it. It will be going into my regular rotation so I can see how my balance gets better. #fitnotfast#gettingfaster#balancechallenged#gettingstronger

Wat is jouw favoriete snel-klaar maaltijd?
Another solid brick today!! Today got me super excited! 👊🏻🤘🏻
90min bike @235w (22.1mph avg), straight into an ALL OUT run!!
I did my 1.5miles at a 6:36/mile avg pace!!! 🤘🏻😝🤘🏻
I couldn’t be happier about that! I’ve never been a fast guy, but you know what...even that pace can prove there is a runner in me! 🏃🏻♂️💪🏻
🚨 #storytime 🚨
When I was in high school I had a baseball coach who wouldn’t let you play unless you could run a 6:30 mile?! Why, I don’t know! 🙄🤷🏼♂️
I had been playing baseball since I was 3, and my junior year I struggled to get the mile completed. I was the only player who couldn’t do it. I ended up sitting out the first game, and then a teammate offered to run the mile with me and pace me!! (Thank you @tgrills13 ...I’ll NEVER forget that)
I didn’t play baseball my senior year cause I hated the thought of not being able to run, and I hated the embarrassment of it all.
So, the point of this is...do it for you! (Pardon my French) Fuck everyone else! I couldn’t run a single mile in a 6:30 pace almost 20 years ago...and now I can run that after a 30mile + bike ride! 😤😝🙌🏻👊🏻
Stick to it! Keep pushing! Be you!
