Roses season in Al-jabal Alkahdar/ dakahliya governorate part of Nizwa & Birkat Almawz, This season mostly starts from April till mid of May,
Jabal akhdar (Green mountain) is a part of the Hajar mountain range, and is famous for its variety of agricultural products such as fruits, pomegranates, plums, apricots, walnuts and roses that can not grow anywhere else in the Arabian Gulf except the Green Mountain Due to the outstanding weather and a height of 3000 meters (10,000 feet). An old stronghold on the inland side of the mountain is Birkat al-Mawz, or Pool of the Plantains, with a layout similar to the nearby Jabrin palace. "Poised across the yawning mouth of a great pass into the mountains, Birkat al-Mawz was one of the fortresses of the Bani Riyam tribe which controlled the mountain heartland. Collapsing into ruin until recently, the mud-brick fortress and its painted ceilings are now well on the way to restoration. The area is about a 45-minute drive from Nizwa and is known for its traditional rose water extraction and agricultural products including pomegranates, walnuts, apricots, black grapes and peaches. It is also the site of honey bee breeding for much of Oman. Agricultural production is improved by the use of Aflaj irrigation channels and their associated terraces system devised by the local farmers, who have lived on this mountain for hundreds of years. The Jebel is mostly inhabited by the ancient Arabtribe Bani Riyam (al Riyamy). Most descendants of the tribe are now in the four nearby villages, including Nizwa, Izki and Ibra.
Between 1954 and 1959, the area became a site of the Jebel Akhdar War, a conflict between Omani forces loyal to the sultan of Oman (aided by British soldiers, including the Special Air Service). #oman#yala#muscat#travels#tourism#omanphotographer#gcc#travelblogger#travel2oman#igersmuscat#gogoeverywhere#middleeast#igworld#getlost#explorer#hifmradio#worldbestgram#adventure#nature#beautyhasanaddress#omantourism#lifeinoman#omantourism#zak1437#tourism 🇴🇲🌷
Sit outside on a rocky ledge & watch the sunset over mountains, sounds relaxing hey! Pretty sure I couldn't feel my face or fingers when I came back inside the hut haha, but it was totally worth it to watch these mountains transform with fading light.
I continued to get up throughout the night & brace the cold to shoot Astro & sunrise 🏔
There is just something super special about this place! *view from outside Mueller Hut
The Sun Voyager in Reykjavik is not only an amazing piece of art, but also symbolizes a dream boat, a promise to itself of undiscovered lands, a dream of hope, progress and freedom. I believe this is exactly what our journey is about and I’m sure many of yours. The dream to be free and discover, experience and learn new things. •
We are voyaging to Thailand today and how I wish it was by boat instead of plane. You may not know this but I hate flying. They say it gets better the more you fly but I would beg to differ 😂 Our flight is about 13 hours long including the connection. I hope someone invents a transporter soon! Do you hate flying? What do you do to conquer the fear?
A few weeks ago I went on an island called Hestur. It is located between Streymoy and Sandoy islands. On the small island you find the Largest gorge in all Faroe islands. For scale take a look at my buddy @mikkelsenbrynjar standing close to the edge.
La vida no se trata de perder o ganar, tampoco quien es mejor que quien.
Disfruta lo que tienes y trabaja duro por lo que anhelas.
Todos mis viajes no son perfectos, pero si, todos me enseñan, la magia de disfrutar el presente.
