Nice Saturday morning run, now with accurate gps courtesy of @garminfitness#forerunner935. Pushed to over 4 miles as a way to dust off my legs, looking forward to rebuilding my base to have multiple runs like these throughout the week 🏃🏻
NDW50 W6D6: 21km easy
Got Maggie to put @ldnburgerrun into the plan and so glad I did.
What an epic turn out this month. I’ve missed running with this awesome squad and pacing is fun too. Been a while since I paced the 5.25km group but settled into is nicely.
A stunning day out there, we ran through Hyde park, up to Paddington, then along the canal, up primrose hill and then back to the canal, into the city and finishing @honestburgers Bank for food!
Thank you everyone for coming out and making this an epic morning. Sorry the route was a little tricky but hey it was good navigational practice right!
Thank you to all the pacers, without this we couldn’t do these runs with so many people. 👏🏻🙌🏻👊🏻
Enjoy the rest of your weekend 💕 #ldnburgerrun#squadgoals#sunshine#grouprun
Sometimes a change is as good as a rest but then I’d forgotten that unsurprisingly as an over-active, competitive family who’s idea of a good holiday is to thrash themselves to exhaustion every day, the Wilkinson family ski trip is rarely restful. I deliberately had a big week marathon training before we left to maximise my training benefit and in the hope that the break would give my legs a chance to recover from marathon mileage. For one week every year running has to take second place to my other favourite sport. I always say skiing has a lot in common with running - physical activity outside in beautiful surroundings going for miles and miles powered only by you and your legs (and one or two lifts obviously). Ever a geek it’s even better now my new #garminforerunner935 has a ski feature which can tell me exactly where, how far and how fast I’ve gone - more than a marathon each day apparently and a top speed to rival Usain Bolt! At this point Child Number One snorts in derision as his top speed is nearly twice as fast. Unlike running I have to concede that on skis I’m not Number 1 in the family, not even Number 2 and, as the small child’s new-found confidence turbo-boosts her downhill, it’s clear that very soon I’m going to be relegated to last place in the family standings. So much for my rest as after a week spent chasing the hubster and Child Number One down mountains closely pursued by Child Number Two I am officially knackered! Much as I’d love to stay here forever at least as soon as we are back on solid ground the usual order of the universe will resume, running will be my top passion and I’ll leave the rest of the Wilkinson family trailing in my wake for another year. #ski#meribel#threevalleys#runnerswhoski#skifrance#marathonrunner#runner#running#coach#runnersofinstagram#marathontraining#londonmarathon2019#londonmarathon#rest#holidays#runtoinspire#mountains#training
NDW50 W6D4: 40 min stair master .
Last week I said to coach @magsmay_d I would get to 200 floors in 40 mins. Today I got there 😀 🕺🏻
I have to admit with 10mins to go, I was a little worried so I upped the setting on the hard part of interval then did a super set to finish. 💦 💦💦
Really pleased with the session and how I am improving my leg strength and fitness. Looking forward to reaping the rewards on some long hilly runs over March and April 🤘🏻
