Caramel Espresso ☕️
I had a great time taking this loving lady from gray/red/black to this caramel balayage! With just enough cream and sugar and just enough espresso! 🖤
Thank you @hippie.with.a.pixie for taking amazing pictures for me! 🖤

It makes my heart happy to know you all are loving these fill formula posts/videos! .
So here are a few questions that keep coming up:
•Why fill with Demi ?
Because it’s less damaging to the hair than using permanent because it’s AMMONIA FREE. Permanent should ONLY be used when lifting is needed. In this case we are depositing only. .
• Why 30 vol and not 20?
Kenra Color is low ammonia. In order to lift a FULL 2 levels you need to use 30! Remember each brand is different! Not one size fits all. You can even reference in your color manuals to see what your brand recommends! Follow the rules before you break them! Super important to understand that 20vol in one line is different than 20vol in another. This is why you should use the appropriate developer with the brand that you are using! .
•What if my client wants an Ash shade and not warm?
Follow the same rules when filling. Replace your warm tones that were lost at that level you are trying to achieve and then finish with your desired Ash color. If you threw ash over this over processed blonde you would be left with a super muddy color or maybe a gray/silver 🤷🏻♀️
•The final color looks red/copper, not brunette!
More of a comment than a question but I want to clarify. Brunette is simply a term used for level of brightness. 1-5 brunette 6-9 blonde. Yes, her color is brunette and yes her color is a brown copper because that’s what she wanted. I hope this clarifies things🥴
Here is her color breakdown using all @kenraprofessional :
Mids and ends with 7CG/7G
Natural Level 4
New Growth-Permanent 6N/6BC 30Vol
Mids and ends- 6BC 9vol Demi .

DARK TO BLONDE- The Reality Update🌟My client had her 2nd appointment with me yesterday and we finally broke through that band! It’s still not perfect and we have one more round of lifting to do before we achieve her hair goal🌟
Read my last post (DARK TO BLONDE- The Reality) for the full hair history and application.
NOTE: Every client is different I’m just sharing my experience with this clients canvas 🖤
The band is from a black permanent hair color that was colored 2 years ago...Hair color is in your hair until you 1) Bleach it out or 2) Cut it off. Even if it fades it’s still there. The truth comes out with lightener lol.
The band was bleached for a total of 4 times within 2 hair appointments. Taking fine tiny sections+ 20 volume, and carefully applying to just the darker areas to avoid overlapping on the already bleach blonde ends+the level 8/9 virgin top half of her hair.
Bands are scary and intimidating but stay calm and be confident. You know what you’re doing. It takes time to achieve the best lift in a healthy way.
No heat was used during this entire process, just foils+patience. One more session and we will achieve her hair goal🌟
CLIENTS- Trust us when we say going blonde is a process. Also not a pretty one in most cases. Especially if your goal is a platinum/ashy/silver blonde. It can take time, $$$, and awkward phases.
