An ecological disaster is unfolding in our rivers and seas, right now, but today, the river will meet the sunset, 3500 pieces of plastic, cleaner, than when it awoke thismorning. Happiness in small victories♥️♥️♥️🤪🤪🤪🌍🌍🌍💋💋💋
Fly-tipping really upsets me. It spoils the community for the many, due to the actions of the few.

It was good to be out on my 1st Cllr Street surgery of 2019. We were door knocking on the Trenthams on Beeston Hill. We picked up a number of issues related to fly-tipping. These will be reported to the Cleaner Neighborhoods Teams.
I’m well used to picking up plastic bottles, cans and coffee cups on this stretch of sliproad in my village. Motorists sling their rubbish out of the window as they come off the dual carriageway, it’s an absolute disgrace. Me and Cooper dog came upon this bin bag full of household rubbish though this morning, dumped on the verge. It was heavy and typically at the farthest point away from my house, but I carried it home to dispose of. Warily took a peek inside when we got back and it was full of food waste - an unopened bag of potatoes, half finished block of Stilton etc etc ....all the excesses of Christmas. Given that Flintshire County Council provide weekly kerbside food waste collections it’s inexcusable behaviour for someone to do this.
Unfortunately some of our beautiful #rural areas are being spoilt by fly-tipping. All incidents of fly-tipping should be reported to your local council. However, if you see fly-tipping in progress then please dial 999 immediately! #flytipping#Herts#police#HertsPolice
Someone tore open the twelve trash bags of illegally dumped stuff I bagged up last week. *sigh* I should have expected that . . . I think the next time I try to deal with a site like this I’ll put out a call to someone with a pickup truck who can help me immediately remove anything I bag up to avoid this happening again. This was a tricky situation because the bags were all quite heavy and the site is too far away from where I live for me to have rolled my own trashbin out and back. The trash bags were also wayyy too gnarly for me to load into my car, even into the trunk. I thought about using my wagon to transport the bags, but it would have taken at least four trips back and forth and honestly may have outright broken my wagon because of the weight. I’m really hoping the @cityofsavannah will press charges or at least heavily fine the landlord responsible for this illegal dumping. There are several pieces of mail at the site, identifying the belongings as coming from the duplex next door—both halves of the house seem to have been emptied at the same time, and there seem to be new tenants in either side of the building now. For the record, I don’t blame the @cityofsavannah for this situation. The city reached out to me about this very quickly, y’all may have seen that in my initial post about this. The city has to work through proper channels—navigating paperwork and adhering to established policies and legislation. This was a situation for a sort of #littervigilante I might argue. The nonviolent and genuinely helpful kind of vigilante . . . unrestricted by red tape 👩🏻🎤🕵🏻♀️🧥

This photo I took earlier today makes me incredibly sad - I drive past this lay-by most days, and this mattress has been dumped here for weeks. I guess someone else got pissed off with the amount of flytipping that happens here on a regular basis too and made a very apt statement. I despise flytippers with an almighty passion - utter bastards. #flytipping#dumpedmattress#bastards#lazyignorantpeople
