Soooo..... a crazy xt class this was at 6am on a Friday. Tried “serious sculpt” at the gym and while I did not find the class serious or particularly sculpting it did remind me how much I love to lift weights and need to get this back in the schedule! So thanks @volee_wa for nudging me to do this! Stay tuned for #gymbexie shenanigans!! #oisellevolée#oisellewalove#oisellewa#flystyle#crosstraining
This guy is my trail Sherpa and has (arguably) made a bigger impact on my running than anyone else. Jerame was the first person to ever take me solo on trails (without the kids). He’s an insanely talented runner, but has absolutely zero ego about it. The man sacrificed his own race at McDowell Mountain Frenzy 50M to run the whole thing with me (and TJ) after my race went to crap after my fall. He could have easily finished that race hours earlier, without question. @jeromedonk, I’m so appreciative of all you’ve taught me and for saying yes to this next adventure... even though I secretly want to be so fast that I can’t use you. I realize that I gush about my running partners a lot, but being a solo female out in the wilderness is something I’m less than ecstatic about, so I feel very blessed to have them (I’m sure my husband and parents feel the same way). Love, love, love all the adventures that we’ve shared and will continue to share. Let’s do this! 🎥: @sysandiego

Running and lifting had been nonexistent this week, and I was feeling really cranky and annoyed. Until, finally late yesterday, I got the opportunity to leave work early and squeeze in 5 glorious miles in 60 degree weather. Seriously, hoping for an early spring, and more days as sunny as this one. I ran over to the Air Force Memorial, (in photo) and had #runviews of the Arlington Cemetery, Washington Monument, and the Pentagon. It was just what I needed, hoping to run another 5 today.

My Name is Becki Spellman (@beckispell on insta)! I am a four-time Olympic Trials qualifier in the marathon, mom of twins, online running coach, and athlete for Oiselle. After having my kids, I struggled to get back to running while staying injury free due to a lack of stability in my core. I've teamed up with Koala Clip to share my current core routine for anyone looking to up their core stability and strength.
Link in profile to the workout.
PS Becki was one of the first people who bought a Koala Clip and has been a devoted user since the beginning. She is a phenom running coach for anyone looking to start working with a coach.

Met a shirt, crazy for me
Met a shirt, cute as can be🎶
Looking to the weekend, which will be a reflection of the week. It’s a time when there is too much work to fit within boundaries I have typically held strong for the last couple years. And I’m at peace with it. I’m tired but not afraid of the work. If I had to “give up” on actually training for the Tokyo Marathon, it was for something I believe I have the ability to impact. #perspective#tgif
A cool photo & lil’ blurb (more like BLAB if y’all know me 🤪) about striving to live a life that I feel good about, a life that feels free & special ✨ Thanks @territoryrunco for the pic & for this great community of equal minded crazy people that I call friends who all like some serious type 2 fun ✨
You know when you have one of those runs when you just could go forever? And you can’t keep up with your feet because you are flying? You have all the energy to climb all the hills at minimal effort? Today was one of those runs. They don’t happen very often, but when they do it’s pure bliss!!!
One happy runner 🏃♀️🥰
I even earned a 👑 on Strava!!
“I’m 5’2” and I consider myself an introvert. I haven’t always taken up my share of spaces. I tend to be pretty quiet and reserved...until you get to know me, then I’ll sing you Ariana Grande songs and show up at your house in a pizza costume.
When I’m on a trail though, I feel like the biggest baddest cloud in the sky, and now I’ve got a jacket to match. #repost@erinlynngood#flystyle#aprilshowersanorak#stormclouds
My past self had a great idea to ski the Korte in the middle of training for Boston. “It’s only 29K, that’s not so bad...” With all the run-training I’ve needed to do, I’ve only skied a couple of times so I have no idea how this will go tomorrow. My brain is thinking about the course I know so well and the pain it’s about to dish out my way. But I’m looking forward to seeing all the happy faces out there and having some good laughs with the folks around me. If you’re up here too...see you on Main Street tomorrow! 🤞 🇳🇴 ❄️ #rememberinghowtoski#kortelopet2019#birkiefever#thisisgonnahurt#oisellevolée#flystyle#hellokikkan

I’m African American. I think that women of color often fail to see themselves in the running world, both in media and at actual races. While there is a wide swath of diverse runners in my own city (D.C.), when I travel for races, I’m often one of only a handful of runners of color.
The “positive,” I guess you could say, is that I usually get recognized by spectators, which can be fun. In longer races, spectators might recognize me multiple times throughout the course, and I’ll get continuous crowd-support! That being said, it can also feel discouraging as the “only lonely” in race corrals and expos.
Despite that reality, my dad is a runner! When I was young, I used to bike alongside him while he ran. He consistently ran the Army 10 within an hour! I’m nowhere near that fast, but I’ve always connected with him through running. .
In high school, I ran track, bc I didn’t make the basketball team, ha! Then, I took a long hiatus from running until law school. In my 3L year, I trained for my first Half with some girlfriends, aptly named, “The Brown Girl Run Club.” I started to run more seriously, and in 2013, I ran my first marathon.
My goal is a sub-4 marathon, but I’m currently rehabbing an ankle injury. Long term, I’d like to qualify for Boston!
My biggest struggle as a runner is my mental game. Recently, I attended a running camp that incorporated 30-minutes of meeting with a “mental game coach,” and that was incredibly helpful.
Running has taught me that I CAN DO HARD THINGS: I can set big goals, follow through, and commit! It’s made me less afraid of declaring my goals, and it’s given me tangible ways to challenge myself outside of my profession.
Any time someone hears that I’m training for a marathon, the followup is usually, “oh, is this your first marathon?” Nope, I’ve run ten! I know I don’t look like a “typical” marathoner, but I’m hoping that by continuing to show up, I’ll help change that! I believe in the power of encouraging women — particularly, women of color— and reinforcing the fact that THEY BELONG in this space, and frankly, in ANY space they desire to be in!
Medals and PRs aren’t just earned on race day. They are also earned on early mornings in winter temps!! Looking back on old race photos for motivation to get me pumped for this year!

And then there's me: 🤨. Epic Purple + Douglas Fir allllll day errrrrryday!
I 💜 you new purple wool flyout long sleeve, but I don’t 💜 you right now Minneapolis. @marccabrera was supposed to land in Bend last night, but MSP decided to take him hostage for one more night (bad weather, classic). I might just have to keep him a day or two longer as payback (take that Minne 😝). Link in bio for the @runlittlewing scoop on the new @oiselle wool flyout!
