Let's talk dynamic control of the lower extremity.
Dynamic control is essentially the ability to control the leg during movement. These drills are great for athletes, but they have nice carry over for any population. They can be modified by weight of ball, speed, and foot stance.
Rotational control is usually not a commonly worked on in many programs, even though many people perform rotational movements/activity in life (golf, baseball, tennis, etc)
1️⃣ Bilateral/Unilateral Windmill med ball slams
2️⃣ Bilateral/Unilateral med ball catch single leg
3️⃣ Bilateral/Unilateral overhead slams
I really like to use the asymmetric slams going medial/lateral to examine how well someone can control rotational movement while producing force.
🔑 The body moves in 3 planes, so throw in some exercise drills that work in 3 planes.

Do you have more Y I N or Y A N G in your life and yoga practice? .
Many of us live active, Yang- type lives working long hours and trying to get everywhere fast.. we get things done and have fun on the way but sometimes the busy schedule can lead to a point where the physical body says NO, so we need to balance this with more Yin activities- taking some time out for quietness & calmness...
Yoga practice works in a similar way ..
Yang practice cultivates energy, vibrancy & power
Yin practice creates calmness, stability and grounding in the body & mind
Combining both yin & yang elements provides a balanced practice and balanced living and wellness, seeking the things that make you feel truly alive and a bit magical.. .
Join me for a bit of yin & yang this Wednesday, 11.15am ☯️
We start the practice by focusing on a breath, stepping away from everything that is waiting for us outside the studio, the short pranayama will be followed by a powerful flow sequence based around linking the breath with movement, finishing in shavasana which after a balanced practice of stretching, twisting and inverting, allows the body to reset itself... .
