Sleep in total darkness, melatonin the sleep hormone is produced in the dark ◾️
Drink water and take magnesium before bed, it’s relaxing and rejuvenating 💧 .
Eliminate caffeine 6 hours at least before bedtime ☕️
Read a book, NOT online! Turn off your phone and any tablets at least one hour before bedtime. No blue light! 📕
Put the alarm across the room so you can’t hit the snooze button 😜
Plan an exciting breakfast to look forward to it 🥘
Set an alarm for your bedtime and start winding down from late afternoon/early evening ⏱
Eat your carbs (assuming you earned them) later during the day and early evening. This will help you sleep better 🍚

I was feeling amazing about my achievements in my health and fitness as well as on the inside as well! Can I tell you I got there easily? Heck no!!! It’s work!!!! It’s work to maintain as well! It’s not easy for me either! I must practice self control with what I eat and get myself up everyday and exercise even on days I feel I have no time or my mood just isn’t there!! It’s called commitment! A decision we can all make. A PRIORITY!! You see, I have struggles going on in my life to. My life comes with challenges too. I have bad things happen as well as good things! What I do however is FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE and not dwelling on the negative! Negativity will bring you down every time if you let it! Facing those challenges he’d on and putting yourself first isn’t a bad thing. In fact it will put you in a better state of mind to help those who need you! .

5 years ago the girl on the left was forever hiding behind a purse and/or nearly always wearing a cardigan or shrug. She lacked energy and often avoided social events and activities. Yes, it’s true. The same girl that was born a social butterfly 🦋and always wanting to be amongst others had suddenly withdrawn from anything that wasn’t “mandatory”. 😔
The girl that throughout most of her life found ways to get in a little exercise had become sedentary and was just going through the motions. Some sad moments had occurred and she had put herself on the back burner. She was basically in survival mode. Rarely do you see a pic with her not smiling, but the one on the left is a painted-on smile masking lots of hurt and sadness. 😢 A mom hurting because one of her children was struggling with an illness that she had no control over. A mom with two other children heading off to college soon. A mom in need of revival. 😓
Fast forward 5 years later to the recent pic on the right. A mom that decided to make a commitment to take care of herself. To embrace what fueling her body with healthy food and beginning a consistent workout plan would do for her. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Sure, there have still been some major bumps in the road, but with the newfound confidence she gained, she not only pushed through them, but rose above. 🙌🏻She chose to step out of her box and accept an offer for a new job that will open up even more opportunities to not only live her best life but help others as well. She is happy. ☺️ She is confident. She is strong. 💪🏻 She is headed into this next chapter with a vengeance and a passion to motivate and inspire others to do the same. 🤗👭 🥰 •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Friends it is NEVER too late to start your own journey. My dinosaur treadmill bit the dust today so... I waited until the “warmest part of the day” and went for it! With a real feel of 6 and 32 mph wind gusts, it kind of felt like running face first into a block of ice👍🤪 The upside is my knee felt great!!! Maybe because it was FROZEN???🥶🤔🤷♀️

Grab a set of dumbbells (medium or heavy) and do this upper body workout with me! Only 3 exercises today, but I promise you will be feeling this one right away! Don’t let a smaller amount of exercises fool you!! Let’s burn out those shoulders and your upper back!!

** Equipment: Medium Set of Dumbbells
Perform each exercise for 30 seconds, pushing for maximum reps during those 30 seconds. Although we are pushing for maximum reps, it is important to focus on your form so that you prevent injury and really focus on the muscle group that is working. This workout is meant to challenge your shoulders and your upper back!! Maintain proper form throughout all exercises and know that you can always modify the exercise, slow down your page, or choose a lighter set of weights, all allowing you to stay in the exercise a little longer!
Repeat the circuit 3-4 times for maximum shoulder and upper back burn! BURN BABY BURN!!
