Shit just got serious. I created this account so I could keep myself accountable. Part of being accountable is facing up to the truth of the moment and sharing that with those of you I know personally and those who discover me on here. If I fail, I will do so publicly. As a result, I really don't want to fail and let down those who support and encourage me @penny.man_ ❤️ This is my starting point, taken when I setup this account on the 16th April 2019. The most I ever weighed was 109kg and I'm way too close for comfort. I can do better, and I will.

Summer is officially here! Are you where you want to be? Let’s keep up that momentum through these busy summer months and be proud to look back at our progress. Consistency is key!
Putting together some fitness assessment results for one of my new clients. It always amazes me when clients tell me they’ve never had any sort of movement screen, body composition analysis, cardiovascular fitness test or muscular strength and conditioning assessment, especially when they’ve worked with other personal trainers or have been a member of a gym. There are numerous assessments and tests to gauge starting point. Not all of these will be suitable for everyone. I carefully select which tests we include depending on client preference, training goals and health status. For example, not everyone wants to know their current weight. If a client has a history of eating disorders it may not be something we include at the outset. This is highly individualised and it’s important to justify why each test is being performed, and the benefits of doing so. As an absolute minimum I will always check blood pressure, and assess movement and flexibility. The bottom line is if you’re not assessing you’re guessing. When did you last test your own fitness? Yesterday I went for my first workout this year with @trevorlindenfitness in preparation for the @Vancouversunrun on Sunday! We did a fitness assessment which lets myself and my trainer know where my body is at for my age, height, and gender. I did an assessment last year and was saddened by my results, feeling it is one thing but seeing it was a whole other. I began this year with clear intentions on what I wanted to accomplish fitness wise and this assessment helped me see that I'm actually on the right path! From this assessment, Caz my trainer developed a program for me based on my goals with my current information. Followed by that, we did a fitness assessment to see what I was actually capable of and the big take away from all of it was that this mama can do a mean squat! This Friday at 2pm, I'll be doing a group run with the North Vancouver Club16 group and following it up with a workout with Caz as one final boost before the run on Sunday!
