To SOAK or not to soak that really is the question? 😘
Nuts and seeds have an array of nutrients that are not always easily DIGESTED. This is because they contain ANTINUTRIENTS. These are plant compounds that reduce the absorption of nutrients from the digestive system. 😘
ANTINUTRIENTS are plant compounds that reduce the body’s ability to absorb essential nutrients. 😘
Phytic acid or phytate (example of antinutrient) is found in all edible plant seeds which includes legumes.
It impairs the absorption of iron, zinc and calcium. Humans lack the enzyme phytase in their digestive tract.
This can cause micronutrient malnutrition and is found in cereals, legumes, oil seeds and nuts 🥜 (Gupta, 2013)
Fermentation, genetic improvement, germination and enzymic treatment of grains with phytase enzyme help to reduce the phytic acid level in food.

"What do you do?" I get this question all the time.
People guess that I do CrossFit, triathlons, bodybuilding shows, spartan races, marathons, or my new favorite...a ballerina. I almost hugged the girl! I wish so badly I could be Misty Copeland.
But, to answer their question, here is what I do:
1️⃣ I don't do a ton of cardio. To be honest, I only do about 90 min of cardio/week.
2️⃣ I follow a scientific nutrition plan that is sure to produce results.
3️⃣ I stick to a proven, programmed workout plan that is scheduled and effective.

Does it happen over night...NO! But it will come and you will love the journey, I can promise you that.

The air quality has steadily declined over the course of today in the South Sound Region, and is supposed to get even worse overnight. For the safety of all the mamas and kiddos, we are CANCELING Stroller Barre class tomorrow (Tuesday 8/21) morning at the RAC, and will postpone Mini Strides/Birthday Celebration until next week.
A live workout video will be posted in our Facebook group the morning, and if you’re looking to get the kids out of the house, we will meet at the Hands On Children’s Museum in Olympia at 10am for some indoor fun.
We will monitor the air quality tomorrow, and make a decision about Wednesday’s class tomorrow night. Last night was one of those trying moments in early parenthood when you have to really dig deep and persevere. My daughter just started teething and her previously reliable sleep schedule has pretty much gone bye-bye. I’m sure you all know the ripple effects of sleep deprivation. It can effect everything from your physical and mental health to your relationships.
I find myself relying heavily on meditation and purposeful breathing to carry me through the moments when expectations collapse and the true difficulties of parenthood set in.
I’m always trying out different mantras and breathing techniques. If you use some or have any other recommendations for calming the mind I would love to know. Leave your recommendations in the comments so we can all help each other have a productive and healthy week. 🙏🏻🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏾🙏🏿

today motherhood totally kicked my trash. i woke up exhausted, piper didn’t listen to a word i said, jack wanted to be held 24/7, naps were half the time they normally are, and i looked like i’d been hit by a train (sorry to everyone that saw me today 😬).
the good news? i got tons of extra cuddles with jack, piper had the best laugh attacks, and i got to spend a little time tonight taking care of myself 💪🏼 - and more importantly, my sanity 🙈.

Meet my coach. They say we look alike. Duplication to the Max 😝🤗I met her through social media. 3 years ago I was an overworked paralegal of 11 years!! I just had a baby and when I realized I had to leave her to go to work I couldn’t handle it. To some this is normal but to me, it’s never been NORMAL! I wanted to be with my baby and give my baby my time. I saw Disney working from home and not having to leave her daughter and son. She was a present mom with her husband and I wanted that for my family. Disney was a bartender at Hooters and this business has given her an amazing lifestyle which we are also enjoying today. Nothing like finishing off leg day with a killer burn out.
This was my finisher. After lifting heavy, I got on the stairmaster for 15 mins and then did my low riders. Talk about a serious burn 😅
