You cannot imagine the amount of nope in my head this morning, but somehow I shut it up and rolled out of bed at 4 a.m. Last week I cut mileage to have fresh legs for my race, and sleeping in again this week sounded reeeeeally nice. But, goals and such. I think I am finally starting to see a little bit of summer running's payoff and that is motivating me to keep showing up. I decided this morning that one thing I love about running is that it's really the antisocial social person's sport. I think my favorite type of run is one in which I am part of a group or running near a group, but generally in my own little world. Don't get me wrong; sometimes I love chatting it up on a run and getting to know people. But, sometimes I just like to feel like I'm not going to be kidnapped or run over and to be paced without actually having to talk to people. And #MarathonFest is great for both of those extremes.😂 A'ight. Happy Tuesday!

So what is up with all this guilt talk concerning food? Why do we have to divide between good and bad? Isn’t there a saying that states that the dose makes the poison? So why do we feel guilty when eating certain foods? Why do we eat it anyways and tell ourself that we deserve a treat? I strongly feel that ending the unhealthy relationship between food and emotions is the key to long term health and well being. What if we stoped treating ourself with sweets? And instead allow ourself to have that one peace of cake and enjoy it guiltfree while chewing? I tried this today. I will stop treating myself with food. I thought about this phrase today as I left my house at 4:50am for my first round of cardio. I regularly tell my coach that I’ll do “whatever it takes to win” and I mean it. I’ve found a sport and a passion that I love, and I’m willing to sacrifice a lot for stage day. If you’re lacking motivation to achieve your goals, I suggest you set a short term goal to get you started. Whether it’s a certain number of workouts this week, hitting your macros or drinking more water each day, commit to it. Find a buddy and hold each other accountable. There’s no way in hell I’d get this early today if I didn’t have a goal. Find yours and set your week on fire. #tuesdaymotivation#tuesday
A week later from being struck with the worst virus his still not himself! He went to daycare today but it completely exhausted him he slept for 2 hours at daycare and requested to go to bed at 6:30pm sleep is the best thing for him right now!

I am so proud of my body and the fact that it gave me my son. I look at my body and I love every part of it. I love my tummy even though it's still the way it is after the c section I ve had. I don't wait to love myself till I lose all the body fat or anything like that. Even the reason that I'm doing everything is not this. It's the point of being #STRONG, #HEALTHY and have positive attitude towards life 👏 We 're all unique the way we look and we don't have to look the same to be accepted. January 1, 2017 I sat down and recorded some goals. One of them was to practice more yoga.
Getting close to the end of the year, I realize just how much my perspective has changed when it comes to the practice of yoga. Honestly, if I wasn’t lifting weights I felt like I wasn’t doing enough. I’ve incorporated yoga into my workout schedule, solely using it for a stretch/recovery or rest day-to lengthen and rest muscles that I’ve used all week. I will definitely continue to do this. But I feel the need to practice more to cross that off with full achievement in December 31.
A healthy lifestyle is such an internal journey with your body and mind. Working on our internal health is so important today, especially with all of the uncontrollable factors we internally ingest or face each day-our bodies go through so much.
To me yoga has become so much more about my internal health-healing and restoring. Working on flexibility and strength for all muscles, joints and tissues in my body.
Today I am beginning a new journey, one that I haven’t yet dove into. Today was Day 1 of a 21 day Yoga Retreat program. After just 30 minutes my body and mind feel so open and light.

Just a really simple, healing, comforting bowl of noodles and veg for people who rarely get sick then somehow manage to contract a flu in August 🙋♀️ Honestly, who gets the flu in August?! This is boiled rice noodles; cabbage and shiitakes sautéed with soy sauce, water, green onions, and garlic near the end (to retain its potency); and a simple broth of miso whisked with soy sauce and hot water poured on top. Normally I have a legume with lunch and dinner (I’d have tofu with something like this) but I was craving just these simple, highly digestible foods.
