This exercise was a killer, working my legs glutes and core. I had to really talk to my self to get through these, told my body to shut up and couple of times.

Growing up in the affluent community of Fairfield County, having an awareness early on of some of the pitfalls of wealth helped to strengthen my ability to cope and adapt. There are many reasons I believe it is important to have a discussion around this said phenomenon, one being the fact that it is a rarely recognized problem in America. There is a #stigma that goes with #wealth that especially impacts the children brought up within this context. The stigma is so entrenched that the general public has little #empathy for these individuals and families, which I have experienced firsthand throughout my journey to wellness. #Toxicwealth is the reverse side of the same coin as #poverty , but the #symptoms are the same! Even if you don’t read this book, I hope to at least increase awareness of the presenting problem. What have I learned? One of the most important things we can do for ourselves is to surround ourselves only with people we share mutual respect. We don’t have to be the same or even have all the same interests, but our underlying morals and values should line up pretty closely. If you find yourself getting stressed or triggered in order to maintain a friendship, it may be a sign that you need to let that person go, or create a safe and healthy distance. Eliminating all things toxic in our lives and honing in on and honoring our individual needs is our responsibility. It’s a way to #survive . Be self-compassionate and try your best to put your self-care first. I guarantee that not only will you be happier, you’ll feel more satisfied and confident in the person you are. It took me 32 years to embrace all of the good and the bad. I always hated my curly hair and growing up around straight haired white and black women, that's what I thought was the acceptable look. I was the unique one with the unmanageable curly hair that EVERYONE wanted but no one knew what to do to maintain it. My mom would just throw it up in a ponytail and send me on my way. .
In high school and into college I NEVER wore my hair curly and constantly had it straight. I'd put chemical treatments in it to help it stay in the Florida weather, up until a couple years ago. This year I finally decided to embrace my curly hair and bring those curls back to life. Don't get me wrong I do love my straight hair too but I'm limiting it to a couple times a year. I excited about the growth over this past year and plan on embracing my curls a lot more. .
I think one of the best things I could have done for myself was join my virtual community of women. Within this community of other coaches and women seeking accountability, you find that no matter how beautiful they may be EVERYONE struggles with SOMETHING they don't like about themselves. No1 pretends to be perfect and we just share the good and the bad. .

One of the best ways to ensure you look and feel amazing as you age, is to take good care of yourself.
