I’m on a journey. Yeah we all know my fitness journey, but recently I’ve been trying to move closer to my faith. I’m a believer but I was never a practicer. This last week or so, I’ve looked forward to spending 30 minutes on my faith a day. It’s a stress reliever and honestly I feel better mentally. I don't know about you all, but this weather really kills my gym vibes. I'm not a fan of the cold and on a cold day like yesterday and today, all I want to do after work is curl into a ball on my couch under a blanket and watch Netflix. .
It's so hard to find the motivation to change into gym clothes and leave the house again. .
Nevertheless it is important to think of the big picture and keep pushing. The cold is only temporary. .
PLUS, I like to remember that there are people in the north that endure colder winters and continue on their grind!
How do you all stay motivated when your mind tells you gym but your body says couch?

Back has always been my weakest muscle group because I struggle to feel the squeeze at max contraction. By training my lower back with heavy weight and low reps I have been able to develop much more thickness. However, I’ve found that training my upper back/lats with lighter weight leads to greater shape and definition. Put down the ego and lighten the weight up a bit and you’ll be surprised how much of a difference it makes on muscle contractions in your back. Current shape. Up around 6-7lbs from my regular weight for my intentional bulk. .
Winter is always hard to get to the gym. Seasonal depression is a real thing. Depression doesn’t always loook like sadness. Sometimes it’s not having the energy to go to the gym or to even get out of the house and socialize. And that’s OKAY. .
So far you’ve survived 100% of your worst days though. I’ll take it as a win. 💛 been super emotional lately haha so today was filled with lots of worship music to get grounded again.
