Went for a walk along the coastal path earlier with the idea of taking some pictures along the way only to find I'd left my memory card at home... Luckily I brought a book with me so I could sit and read on a nice rock I found.
And we finally made it to Milford Sound! What’s the difference between a Sound and a Fjord? I didn’t know either! But I learned the difference while we were JUCY cruising around. A Sound is created by a river, a Fjord is created by a Glacier. So technically Milford Sound is a Fjord created by a massive glacier!

This long winding path up to the top of Sail always reminds me of a really badly healed scar. Like the whole side of the mountain had once been cloven in two and crudely sewn back together by somebody with zero medical experience!
Coincidentally the lump in the foreground is called Scar Crags and there is also a small ridge between Sail and Crag Hill, at the back, called The Scar
Still hoping for snow but I'm starting to wonder if we've had our 'perfect weather year' already. Last winter was exceptional, followed by a beautiful spring, incredibly warm and dry summer and an endless autumn. Which means we'll probably have rain for the next 7-10 years 🤣
So long as it's not windy. Windy can 🖕
