551 uneventful miles today, covering all of TN & AR. We are done and “Wal-Mart Camping” in Texarkana, TX!
We did have a great lunch at a ‘Choke & Puke’ called Burger Barn somewhere in TN. The food was very good.
Our destination is Austin, TX and we will be there tomorrow afternoon & plan on staying for 4-5 days.
Oh yea... Loves Truck Stops have been very nice and very clean... just wish they had a rewards program since we are burning through some diesel. (10.8 mpg today, running 65 mph)
Our goal tonight is to have heat all night long!
Last night we took advantage of our Harvest Host membership by staying at Sand Canyon Country Club in Santa Clarita, California. +
It was really beautiful, quiet and peaceful. I’m so glad we joined #harvesthosts and highly recommend it!
Here’s a little Tuesday evening story for you boys and girls. A married couple had a deal on a toyhauler out of Lake Havasu City/Tucson, Az. The couple paid their deposit, got financed, had a $48,000+ check FedEx’d to them, the salesman decided to stop returning calls, texts and emails. They returned the check to their credit union and went on about their should be happy purchasing experience. They came across a dealership in Surprise, Az. The salesman there blew smoke and sunshine up their ass, as most do. He couldn’t keep up with his lies, he even admitted to lying and not being able to follow through with a deal. The couple is now back to square one, fighting to get their cash deposit back they put down with salesman #1, toyless, upset and over it. When did it become about lying and number changing all in the name of a sale? Literally cannot find a person worth a shit. Literally cannot find anyone who will stick to their deal. What should’ve been a fun weekend of getting our new toy situated has turned into a weekend of us unpacking the shed with our personal possessions to go into our current trailer. I was looking forward to finding someone with knowledge of all things @attituderv and we have been nothing but let down. I can’t get a salesman in CA from 4 shops I called who will even speak to me regarding transportation and taxes when you live in AZ. I guess people don’t want sales that bad these days. Unfortunate. Now I’ll be stuck with some ugly ass Forrest River I do not want. All salesman should be required to wear this name 🏷. Glad we got that fancy $72,000+ truck this weekend to tow something we don’t even have now. #mad#pissed#salesman#sales#fifthwheel#toyhauler#attitude#attituderv#attitudetoyhaulers
It’s cold here in Utah. And I am missing the short sleeve weather. It makes me even more grateful for this opportunity to explore the world and chase the sun. We are missing home already and are eager to get back to the RV lifestyle!
Jason and I were talking about how crazy it is that in just 6 weeks, it’s become home for us!!! We still have some settling in to do, but it represents so much promise and happiness. 🥰
A few weeks ago, on our way to San Diego we discovered we had a broken leaf spring hanger. Part of it had sheared off. It connects the suspension to the wheels and the frame. Not good. We don't know when it broke, and it's likely it had been that way for a while. We had an uneasy ride through San Diego to our campground (it was the Sunday before New Year's Eve - nowhere else to go). Brian was able to get us an appointment the following Friday, and they assured us we would be able to take our home back later in the day. I'm so happy to say that it worked out! We had all the leaf spring hangers fixed/reinforced, other maitainence work done, and new tires put on, and we were back in our site before dark.
Seeing them tow your home around in a tight space, and put it up on jacks is not fun, though. Props to Brian for doing most of the work on the RV, so this was the first time in 2 years that we were without our #homeonwheels. ❤❤❤
Aside from the story updates, we haven’t shared a ton of our RV renovation on here. Truth be told, we were working on our renovation up to the last night before we left to drive out to Breck! 😬 ⠀
Once we got out here and things started breaking, the renovation took a back seat. The paint touch ups, the finishing decor touches, the bathrooms and desk area.. it’s all still a bit under construction 🛠⠀
And while it may not be “perfect”, we really do love our little home on wheels. It’s crazy to look back at some of the Before photos to see how far it’s come. And while it may not be totally “done” in our eyes, the transformation is still pretty amazing! ⠀
This daybed nook went from a dark space with a yucky old couch to one of our favorite spots in the RV 😍 (that is, if we can Russ to stop hogging all of the pillows...)
Hear me out! I know it’s not technically RV season, but we are gearing up for our next DIY adventure. This is probably a dead giveaway but I had to share some of my findings! These RV makeovers have transformed the way I feel about these little homes on wheels, and it’s a good thing because hubby says we need to . . . well, more on that later 😉
Come on over to my blog and check out my findings!! Be sure to tap this image to see where these images come from and visit the accounts to see more!
Now - any guesses on what crazy thing we will be doing next?? .
Six months ago, I came home from tiny apartment hunting, looked around my house, and cried on the floor for an hour because I knew I couldn't take all of my "stuff". I picked myself up, looked in the mirror, and told myself that stuff was no longer going to make me feel that way. I had four closets stuffed full of clothes, purses, and random junk that I didn't use.
I sold everything except most of my books and some of my clothes. I kept enough to live a comfortable lifestyle, only the purses that I love, my China that I now use on a daily basis because it is beautiful and I enjoy it, only shoes that dont make my back hurt when I wear them all day.... What happens when we free ourselves of the stuff that prevents us from living our best life? So far, I have found freedom of time, better financial freedom, freedom to read and write more, freedom to grow my business... So while it is easy to make jokes about the awesome Netflix show about sparking joy, consider the life you could have if you were not constantly cleaning, trying to organizing, and filling shopping carts with "decorations" that don not serve a purpose other than instant gratification. What does that look like for you?

I just realized it has been a while since we introduced ourselves, so this week we will share a little about our family!
We are a family of four that call Texas home. We love to take every chance we can to visit our National Parks. We have visited 18 U. S. National Parks, many National Historical Parks/Monuments, 2 Canadian National Parks, 14 states and 2 Provinces in the last 3 years. We love to be in our fifth wheel and usually spend over 8 weeks a year in it. We would be full timers if we could, but we love our jobs as a teacher, firefighter and junior high students too much to give that all up. One day we will be out on the road full time, but until that day we will continue to make memories one mile at a time as we cross the map during school vacations!
Find out more about each of us individually later this week!
Inspired by @twinning_in_our_5thwheel to look back at the day we bought our trailer. This is a photo of my mom in what is now our home in April 2017 at the dealership when we bought our RV! When we first walked into this one we were shocked that an RV could look like this, this was not like any of the other ones we were looking at (they were all trailers we didn’t even think of getting a fifth wheel). Even though it wasn’t what we originally thought we were going to get it definitely felt the most like home when we walked in❤️
I’m typically a hot mess but I’m totally fine with it. I just skate through life faking it till I make it, please tell me I’m not the only one! 😂
I’m the same way when it comes to home decor! I’m pretty good in the DIY department, I was blessed with my moms crafty genes! But when it comes to peeling off stickers on trailer cabinets, I make quite the mess. Don’t worry, I covered it right up with some decor after I tried to color match it with some crayons. Lol!! •
I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but can you even tell that I basically waxed the veneer off the cabinet?! 🌿😂
🛠 Renovations are almost done! We’ve been so busy working, renovating, dry camping, and visiting loved ones before we take off! ➡️ Swipe for before!

We took a break from posting progress photos while we finalized some design decisions (which means redoing most things 2-3 times). Living and running a business in a construction zone under 200 sqft is super hard y’all. —
Now it’s finally time to share what we’ve been working on — take a peak at some in progress before and after photos! #camperrevamper@rvinspiration#rvinspirationphoto
Today we had another great day at the beach! I have so many great beach pics I couldn’t decide which ones to post so I’m going with RV pics instead 😂
Here is the bunkroom! That is a long body pillow on the bottom bunk… My son tosses and turns a lot in his sleep so we put that there for padding so he wouldn’t wake all of us up!
I want to get a really great black and white photo of my kids and blow it up nice and huge - like poster size and put it on the wall that is big and blank right next to the TV!
We arrived in Acton, CA today. We’re staying at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon. It’s gorgeous here!
There’s an upper level and a lower level and @thewanderfulway advised us to snag a spot in the upper level to have the best cell signal! (Thanks guys! 😎👌🏻)
We drove around and found that lots of spaces had signs on them saying “no power” so we had to really search to find a 50 amp spot with power! +
All of the back in sites have incredible views. Unfortunately, they were all full. 😭 We had to settle for a pull-through. We have a lot of stuff planned outside the park while we’re here though, so it’s no biggie. +
We’ve found that at most RV parks we’ve been to, the back in sites have better views. However, pull-through sites are usually easier to navigate when you’re parking. Which do you prefer? Back in sites or pull through sites?

Swipe for before! 🎆 2018 was the year of transformation and transition for us — now onto a year of adventures!
Edit — This kitchen is small but mighty. We cook 90% of our meals here. We rebuilt the entire kitchen with a specific design for each inch of cabinetry of storage space accounted for. In this kitchen we can fit: a Vitamix, an air fryer, an Instant Pot, a full set of pots and pans, a large Cuinsinart Processor, a pull out trash bin, baking supplies, a set of Pyrex glass storage containers, and more utinsels than we need. There is much more stored in this tiny kitchen — it’s all about good design and intention. #livingtinyproject

We’re loving spending so much time with family in a sticks and bricks house, but I kind of miss life in our tiny house too!
It is parked in the driveway, and we are still sleeping in there, but we can’t extend the slides in the main part of the RV, so most of our living is in our sister’s house. +
I have to admit though, I really love cooking in a large kitchen and having a full-size washer and dryer at my disposal!
Southern California really is beautiful, and I am enjoying the snow capped mountains and mild temperatures. The best part of course, is being with family ❤️

My toy hauler's kitchen is DONE!! 😱 It has a RESIDENTIAL range, RESIDENTIAL hood, RESIDENTIAL pot filler, RESIDENTIAL cabinetry, and of course, a diva cow. This is what tiny kitchen dreams are made of!!
