This mumma missed her first workout in forever, this morning after juggling a tag team match with these two bubbas.
How am I feeling about the shift in my plans and/or routine. I’m totally fine with it, I’ll workout this afternoon instead. But to be completely honest, right when I first became a mummy, the unpredictability of having children use to feel very different especially when it would interfere with my goals/training.
Missing a training session can shift your mood almost immediately and I promise you it doesn’t have to be like this.
First thing I do is always wonder why the universe threw this diversion in, perhaps my body needed the rest, maybe I was going to injure myself in that session and that was the diversion, maybe being on the road this morning was not going to be safe.... WHO REALLY KNOWS. But for some reason I just was not suppose to train then & I will look at it exactly like that.
Second thing I do is a quickly go through my “to do” list and start plucking things out of it that I can do to use that time wisely. When you do nothing you will feel incredibly unproductive and down.
Thirdly I refuse to let myself be punished for missing the session. I’m not going to go devour everything in sight, stay in a negative mood and feel sorry for myself. I tried to stick to my training routine and it wasn’t successful, end of story, I won’t lose my strength or my fitness or my results from this missed session, it’s just one session. It already sucks missing it, so I WILL NOT let it be worse then it already is and punish myself for the remainder of the day or week.
Hope this can help everyone out there working hard towards a goal to understand that there will be diversion and it’s perfectly ok! You are stronger then that and this is part the journey.
