10 days already! Today I have been absolutely exhausted and been having many many hot flushes 😰 .. My hormones are all over the place right now! We have decided to test on Friday instead of Saturday because we are going on a long weekend break with my family, It will either be an amazing weekend or a weekend where we just chill and figure out what we will do next, Hopefully it won’t be that 🤞🏼✨ ..
Have you seen the story hop that some of my fellow fertility doctors have been doing?
It was something that I was also going to participate in, but like a lot of you, life got crazy and it just didn’t work out.
That doesn’t mean that I don’t have some thoughts on the New York Times article on “When you’re told you are too fat to get pregnant” though…
As a physician, the oath I took and practice by is to “do no harm.” This is something I take seriously. Whether you are overweight, underweight, or normal weight, my goal is always the same: to treat you with the respect you deserve and help you achieve your goals of starting or growing your family in the healthiest and safest way possible.
Women who are outside the recommended weight range often have difficulty conceiving and seek assistance. Getting to a healthy weight can help them in their journey. A healthy weight is also safer for certain fertility procedures that require anesthesia, to reduce pregnancy and childbirth complications, as well as just overall life-long good health.
What are your thoughts on this story?
It’s on @dailymail so have a read if you have time & please share your comments & experiences below- it truly helps those in our community who have not yet made their decision on what route to take to motherhood 💗
Do you agree with him?
Do you think he has a parental right?
Do you think it’s hard no matter what legal agreements are signed?
Do you think the child will benefit from then having multiple parents & more love?
Or do you feel it is too much confusion?
Or are you in a similar situation where you have a great relationship with your donor & so does your child or children so this wouldn’t or hasn’t been an issue for you?
And has it been successful? Have you had any difficulty at all?
Do you think the law is right or wrong in this case?
Do you have a similar situation to this story whereby it is difficult & now you’re having to seek legal assistance?
If you’re in a situation with a known donor did you seek legal assistance prior to donation to protect against this happening in years to come, or are you happy for contact?
It is a situation that is happening more & more as people take known donors (for their own different reasons) & we’d love to hear all opinions on this & what you would donor have done;
We want to hear all comments & opinions on this & please be mindful that some are possibly in a similar situation so please ensure all comments are constructive!

We all love Chrissy Teigen for many reasons. Her cookbooks, her tweets, she’s from Washington, and nothing has been more relatable than the fact that she has been through IVF several times. She shared that it was “devastating” when her first round didn’t work. “You hear stories about IVF working the first try. But you’ll hear a lot more stories about when it takes a few times,” Teigen said. “Ours didn’t work the first time, and it was devastating. You realize that a lot of it is luck, and you can’t blame things on yourself.” Thanks Chrissy for providing such an open and relatable discussion around infertility!

How did I get here? This “Social Infertility” does not start just one day… It is more like a set of events coming to your life. I don’t know how I actually started to feel as real. I remember the time when friends and more friends were getting married and then pregnant; that didn’t affected me at all in my early 30’s (I was sure that will come to me eventually) but the fact was that at 35, I was, in a relationship, but way too far from having a baby.
I think it was at that age when I actually stared to worry about the possibility of being childless forever… I talked with my partner about my concerns but we weren’t ready as a couple to expand our family (This fact hasn’t change and caused a lot of issues to our relationship which I may explain later). So, time passed and suddenly, I was surrounded by more babyshowers, kids parties, babysitting cancelations, and the famous question: “And you… When?“ I felt like I was left behind!
At this point, I can say that more than the 90% of my closest friends and family have children, which make the situation more difficult as the majority of my plans are attached with their conditions and availability of their busy schedules. So, I passed through a very difficult time trying to decide what did I really wanted? What would make me happy? How I was feeling without being influenced by others so “perfect” life… I went through so many different thoughts and feelings until I got to the conclusion that my best option [FOR NOW] it is Egg Freezing… #eggfreezing#socialinfertility#mystory#tcc#tcccommunity#fertilitytreatment#fertility
I appreciate it when celebrities and other public figures are open about their infertility journey. I believe one of the many steps needed to normalize infertility. Being vulnerable about one's journey is hard, but important and I applaud it. .
I would much rather see stories like these than stories of "surprise" babies at age 50.
Every minute one woman somewhere in the world dies due to pregnancy related causes. In India every seven minutes a maternal death occurs leading to more than 77,000 women dying each year in India alone. The tragedy is that a majority of these deaths can be prevented. It is a question of not just a Right to Health but is also a Human Rights issue. It is every woman’s right to live and survive pregnancy and childbirth.

We’re home from our Athens adventure and after a full nights sleep back in our own bed, we’re feeling good.
It’s been a rollercoaster couple of weeks but we’re both good. I’m not going to document our #tww because I think it’s too easy to make comparisons with others, plus I want to keep my mind busy with work as a distraction. We have Lily’s birthday this Sunday and Ava’s on the 9th, so lots of emotional hurdles while we wait.
This is an image of our little one Dottie & her friend Sophia at our last UK Meet where we had over 90 attend!
We even had Batman & Rapunzel attend to meet & greet the children (& some of the adults!) If you’d like to attend please DM us or email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your place as limited space available
