Why is it that women (particularly) are so damn critical of themselves? I (very) frequently look at myself and think, I’d like to loose a few more kilos, I wish my tummy and thighs were smaller. What would it be like if my boobs weren’t as saggy? Or I wish that I could have my friends beautiful curly hair.
I don’t think I’ve ever met a woman who couldn’t find something to complain about. But each day for the sake my these little ladies I try and embrace one more thing about myself. I hope to instil in them positive eating habits and a love for an active lifestyle so the cycle ends with me. It’s not an easy task, and I slip and stumble but - they say life is a journey right?
I try start my days off right by finding one thing that I love about myself each morning, one thing I’ve accomplished and that I’m proud of! So hit me with it! What do you love about your body, or what are you proud of? For me I’m proud of the strength and definition I’ve gained in my upper body. I can physically see muscles that I didn’t know existed, and I have a renewed sense of energy that I didn’t have when I was younger.
18 more weeks until baby girl is here! 😍 Time is flying but I feel like we’ve done so much through the process to prepare. Here’s a few things we’ve done:
1️⃣ Modified workout routines (multiple times). I went through a phase of little to no exercise (bc sick & wasn’t eating much), to a more traditional powerlifting split, and now to a typical body building split. I currently workout ~5 days a week for 1-2 hours each day. I start EVERY day with diaphragmatic breathing and core/PF activation. Honestly life changing and has allowed me to continue doing some of the more difficult movements and maintain good posture as baby girl grows. Not to mention continue doing my job with ease: I still train 6-8 clients every day.
2️⃣ Transferred our remaining care and labor/delivery to a birthing center so we can have a water birth. Never been a fan of hospitals and wanted to take a more natural route with minimal intervention. We are SO excited for this and feel very fortunate for the opportunity to do so.
3️⃣ Currently in the process of finding a chiropractor to ensure my body (esp pelvis) is properly aligned bc misalignments can cause complications at birth.
4️⃣ Maintained a healthy, nutrient dense, plant based diet which has helped me avoid the long list of negative symptoms that are common with pregnancy.
And a few small details that are making a huge difference: a pregnancy pillow (best thing ever seriously lol), constant tummy lotion/oil, finding clothes that grow with me, and going with the flow of my ever changing body and days.
The last part is especially crucial! I’m sure the next 3 months will bring even more adaptations and changes, but we’re loving every moment and can’t wait to meet baby girl. 🙃🤰🏼

As women, especially women in businesses, we are often trying to prove that we’re worthy of an opportunity in spite of being female. We’re taught that traits we traditionally associate with being a woman – emotion, intuition, empathy, communication – make us weak, when in fact, those qualities make us better leaders.
Meet Nelini Stamp, our #WokeWednesday feature for today.
This woman is a powerhouse of action and strength. As the National Organizing Director at the Working Families Party, Nelini collaborates with volunteer leaders across the country to build local progressive infrastructure. She joined the New York Working Families Party staff in 2008, door knocking and field organizing for a variety of electoral campaigns across New York State. Since then, she has been deeply involved in social movement work around economic and racial justice across the country.
Nelini also co-created the Freedom Side and co-founded Dream Defenders in Florida, which organizes and trains youth in non-violent civil disobedience, civic engagement, and direct action. Lately, as a co-builder of WFP's Resist Here project, which launched #ResistTrumpTuesdays, she has been chasing Senator Schumer around to make sure he stands up to Trump. You can often find her leading marches, attending rallies, and mic-checking at direct actions.
You can learn more about this amazing woman, follow, and support her at @nelstamp.

We’re so happy to be teaming up with another local female artist!
The talented @inezzerific has been collecting empty cartridges for months. She’s recycling them for an amazing art project and we’re so excited to help!
Please bring any and all empty cartridges to our launch event if you’d like to donate to Inez and her project!
We will also have @vxxostudio painting live for us🎨

You always get a choice how you rise to the day. I caught myself in a long winded sorry state after landing home, feeling jet lagged and recovering from food poison. I was dragging my sweet arse around, moping, feeling frustrated. Taking down my family with me. Spiraling downhills. And then I made a choice. Enough is enough. I don’t want to feel stress anymore. I don’t want to feel negativity anymore. Doesn’t mean I have to be bouncing off the walls every second (although I could). But I can feel better. The thoughts create the chemicals in my body which create how I feel. So I decided that today I want to feel alive. Joy. Present with the day. Stress is a choice I am not choosing today. #medicinewoman#femaleempowerment#practiceyourpassion#ladydentist#bosslady#choosehowyoufeel#startyourdayright#stressisachoice

Following up from the previous post about self love and why it is your greatest asset. The foundation of success is self love because true self love comes from being honest with yourself, your self image is realistic and you don’t seek validation from other people because your validation is all that you need. But you also love everyone else when you love yourself because your bucket of abundance is overflowing with love and ready to give. Somewhere down the road you forgot how to be true to who you are.
Take small steps everyday, loving yourself is like climbing a mountain not running a marathon. The goal is to become a ‘whole’ person in an empty room. The sad fact is that some of what has been programmed into our mind comes from our upbringing with our parents, it’s about re-programming the mind. ▪️The first thing you have to do is forgive yourself for everything you think you have done wrong, for everything that you think is wrong with you and for everything you aren’t. ▪️Every time you catch yourself speaking negative about yourself, stop and say “it’s okay, you did well. It’s over”. Stop beating yourself up for making mistakes because mistakes is how we grow and learn. Instead I encourage you to make more mistakes. Life is full of em. STOP obsessing with past mistakes and replaying embarrassing moments in your head. ▪️View your personality and who you already are like an outsider. Be honest and take a look at the mirror. It all starts with you. After that go and ask people that are close to you/ you trust what they really think about you. This will give you insights on how you really appear to other people. It could be positive or negative which what we are is what we attract. ▪️ Let’s think for a minute here, how would you treat someone you love? Sometimes you mind will sabotage you and view you as less than what you are and the media also plays a role in this. What does your behavior say about the way you treat yourself? Analyze and write it down. Then work on the reverse. ————————————————

This quote was me 110%. I wanted my business to work but wasn’t committed enough to make it happen. Rewind a short amount of time when I decided that IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, I worked hard and now I’ve got there. I’m so excited for what lies ahead! Commitment makes your goals come true. 👊🏻

Good morning Queens 👑,
Will you, please?
Do not take any of it to the last day when today can be the day.
Thank you 💕💕
You can tell who the strong women are, they are the ones who can focus on themselves yet can still build up other women, instead of tearing each other down 💕👭
When women support each other incredible things happen ✨
Here’s to strong women 🥂
May we know them.
May we be them.
May we raise them.
NEW POSTER: I want to love myself and stop being afraid to look in the mirror. Don't you?
Feeling comfortable in your own skin is a full-time job. You have to quiet that inner critique and the potential rejection from others to figure out why you are really putting so much pressure on yourself. .
Is starving, going broke spending money on beauty products, and always hiding your belly the kind of life you want to live? And for who, for what? The strangers that see you on the street? The potential lover you are trying to attract just so you can wait 6 months to be yourself around?
Whether you have too many rolls, marks on your skin, or just a bad hair day, try to embrace it. We all have bodies that the people around you will judge you for. We can't stop the looks and comments but we can control how we feel about it. .
If we start to show confidence in ourselves maybe we can inspire others to do the same. We can pass it on that "being you is always a good idea." Then our voices together will be louder so we can drain out all the shame forced on us. .
No makeup or filters. Just you really feeling yourself even if you are just in your damn underwear. .
