My good deed... plasma donation. Plasma is used for:
Clotting Factors—People with bleeding disorders are unable to clot blood properly. As a result a minor injury may result in internal bleeding, organ damage and even death.
Immunoglobulin or IVIG—There are more than 150 primary immune deficiency disorders (PID). These individuals have improperly functioning immune systems and do not respond to traditional antibiotics. Without IVIG, they are exposed to frequent and often serious infections.
Alpha-1 Antitrypsin—Alpha-1 is more commonly known as genetic emphysema. It is a heredity condition that may result in serious lung disease in adults and lung and/or liver disease in both children and adults.
Albumin—Albumin is used to treat burns, trauma patients and surgical patients.
Hyperimmuneglobulins—These are used to treat rabies, tetanus, dialysis patients and organ transplant recipients. They are also used to treat pregnant women who have Rh incompatibility, a condition where the mother and fetus have incompatible blood that can lead to serious injury to the unborn child or even death. #fascinating#plasma#donate#gooddeeds#help#bigwords#easypeasy#doitnow#australia

It’s interesting to see the different behaviors when they react to the weather. This is called bearding and they do it for multiple reasons commonly including hot weather or ripening nectar into honey. Less bees in the hive means better circulation of air. #bees#fascinating#beekeeing#bearding#honeystores
Vegetarian Festival, a religious event originating from China is the most exciting and most widely observed tradition of Phuket province. It took place in Phuket for the 1st time in the newly developed mining town of Kathu mostly inhabited by Chinese miners about 170 years ago.
As they were well-to-do and in need of recreation, they hired the troupe from China to give performances. Everything went on smoothly and the troupe was able to stay there for several months. Then they were suddenly stricken by an epidemic and the theatre was forced to close down.
The troupe abstained from eating meat and performed religious rites for 9 days and 9 nights, in order to purify their bodies and minds, and to get rid of evil.
Strange but, all the members of the troupe recovered their health afterwards. This caused great curiosity to the local people. Some of them did the same thing the next year and found it beneficial both physically and mentally. The number of people practising this increased year by year, and it has become a festival for the whole island. Many people take part in it either because they share the same belief with the Chinese or because they are attracted by the accompanying activities that are so exciting and fascinating.
The festival normally lasts for nine days following Chinese lunar month.
Mediums who are in hypnosis have their faces pierced with various objects. Rites are performed at more than ten temples at various times and dates.
Long lines of devotees, led by images of gods and priests, walk through the streets in procession several times during the festival. Onlookers lining along the streets with large quantities of firecrackers prepared in advance, light and throw them to the procession, causing continuous deafening noises that are heard miles away and adding great fun to the occasion.
Future Willie Wagtails 🐦🥚
👉🏼Just in case you were curious about these cool little birds... The Willie Wagtail's nest is a neatly woven cup of grasses, covered with spider's web on the outside and lined internally with soft grasses, hair or fur. The soft lining of the nest, if not readily available, is often taken directly from an animal. The nest of the Willie Wagtail may be re-used in successive years, or an old nest is often destroyed and the materials used in the construction of a new nest. The cream-coloured eggs, speckled with grey and brown are incubated by both sexes.
The Willie Wagtail is often found in the company of cattle and sheep. They either run behind the moving animal snatching insects as they are disturbed, or sit on the animal's back, darting off to capture a flying insect and then returning to its mobile perch.
Sharing a post from my art page @meghanehedley about the merging and parallels of art and healing! I generally keep the pages separate but in this case it is time for connection! I highly recommend @movingmountaininstitute for workshops! ⬇️
Another blast from the past! I loved showing in the Museum of Art at Washington State University. The black floors and white walls made for a stark contrast, and helped me work toward a poetic space between drawing, painting, extension cords, and focused lightbulbs. This weekend I completed a workshop on craniosacral therapy and I learned quite a bit about listening hands, the fascinating subject of the cranium and sacrum connection, and tuning into sensation and perception within the felt sense of the body both as practitioner and patient. When I create a painting, this is also my task. When I create an installation within a gallery, so too, is my task to tune into subtleties and sensations. I enjoy the overlap of healing/medicine/body work and art studio practice. It is not so linear- more like the chicken and the egg- which happens first? Which influences the other first? A mystery! My new work is not quite the same as this 2013 show, but I hope to recapture and reform some of this older flavor into my new paintings, along with the added studies of mindbody attentiveness through Chinese Medicine and Craniosacral therapy. What a fascinating world we live in! One to be observed, narrated, painted, felt and shared!
