Perched on a high terrace above magnificent walled gardens, Dunrobin Castle, with its conical spires and turrets resembles a castle in a #fairytale.
It is the most northerly of Scotland’s great houses and one of Britain’s oldest continuously inhabited houses. The castle and the nearby village of #golspie should definitely be on your ‘must visit’ list if you are staying in the #heartofsutherland... While in Golspie don’t miss: Big Burn Forest Walk, Golspie Gallery, Golspie Stone Shop, Capaldi’s Ice cream, take a hike up Ben Bhraggie, go seal spotting at Loch Fleet and much more!
We are delighted to say that Andy Bunting has agreed to extend the falconry season at Dunrobin this year. The displays were due to stop at the end of this month.
However in October they will continue at the usual times of 11.30am and 2pm but there will be no displays on Mondays or Tuesdays.
Today we sat by a crackling fire (aka a YouTube clip on the smartboard... thanks for the idea @thekentuckyteacher!!) and the kids read their published fairy tales to one another. They were SO proud of themselves, and all clapped and cheered each other at the end of every story! It was so great to pull together everything we’ve learnt about imaginative texts this term and to celebrate how far they’ve come since the start of term. I can’t wait to share some of the end products with you!
