▷The Great Barrier Reef has been a bucket list item of ours for as long as we can remember. Why you may ask? Well for starters, the Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world, composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching over 2,600 km (1,600 mi) along the coastlines of Queensland, in Australia’s Coral Sea.
The Great Barrier Reef has been identified as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world, enticing people from all walks of life to swim in its tropical waters. Knowing this, we wanted to ensure our experience was the best it could possibly be and we found that with @TusaDive .
With over 30 years in business, modern comfortable vessels, and a choice of 16 outer reef locations, with a friendly professional team to look after us, we knew we were in for an exceptional Great Barrier Reef adventure with Tusa Dive.
Tusa Dive's 16 sites are scattered on the reefs lying close to the edge of the continental shelf, where the best visibility and most spectacular corals can be found. Each day the skipper chooses two sites to maximize diving and snorkeling based on that day’s conditions. For our particular snorkel adventure we visited Magic Bay and Saxon Reef where we got to swim with and see a variety of corals, colorful fish and sea turtles.
Tusa Dive’s professional and friendly dive crew were on hand every step of the way. Offering free sunscreen (yes please), water, coffee and tea and an incredible spread of healthy buffet style food for lunch (with beer and wine available for purchase). This day was perfect in every way, and the Great Barrier Reef lived up to the hype as the most beautiful display of underwater life as we know it.
