2 years ago, I watched an exceptional documentation of a couple who traveled around America in their van, which they had converted into a little home, with a full shower, kitchen, bed and storage. It wasn't that the van life called to me, it was the fact of taking your home to the most majestic wonders of the world; where all my creative arts, music & writings were close by.
1 year, 6 months ago, I started saving 90% of my paychecks while working 4+ jobs at once. I researched van life, vehicle dwelling, boondocking and nomadic lifestyles for the next year, figuring out exactly what was right for me.
6 months ago, I found my new home, slightly bigger than a van, but still able to park in a standard parking spot. It has a full bathroom, shower and closet, 4 burner stove + big refrigerator, a full size bed, futon, kitchen table, heat, water, solar and storage. It was perfect.
I spent the next 6 months taking it on test runs, leaving home for days, weeks or months, making sure everything was ready. I met, and worked with family friends getting the furnace, water heater and generator ready for full time use. I traveled to distant places finding blankets, tapestries, pillows and comforts that would make this vehicle my home.
As of January 1st, 2019, I left home for good, traveling around America, Canada & hopefully one day Mexico. I choose my own schedule, wake up with the sun, say goodnight to each sunset, climb mountains, jump off waterfalls, hike through forests and create my vision along the way.
Thank you friends, family, loved ones and supporters who made this a reality. Its been a crazy 2 years getting ready, but if you put your mind to something, and in your heart feel like it must be done, well my friends, anything is possible. Absolutely anything.
Safe Travels My Friends.
Squinting in the light…. These shiny and bright colors of Cordoba make me so happy. ☀️ ❤️☀️ The orange trees are growing everywhere here. The nice orange fruits are looking seductive and calling „try me“…. Don’t do this… it may collapse the dream. They are absolutely not tasty! 🥴
Locals don’t eat them. In former times they cleaned the pots with the fruits. Nowadays the locals show their dissatisfaction during a demonstration by using them as a bullet or just export them to England. The oranges used for the traditional english sweet-bitter marmalade are coming from Andalusia, mostly from Sevilla.
There is no need to taste the orange to know, whether it is bitter or not. Just check the leaf. If there is a tiny little leaf right next to the big leaf, it is 100% bitter! 😎

graduation season is right around the corner. what are some words of wisdom you wish you had before heading off into adulthood?
When I look at this picture, I am reminded of the beauty that comes from being at peace with yourself..This year I challenged myself to come up with a mission statement to live 2019 by
“Utilize your passion to improve the lives of others”
To improve means that I become the type of person that continually challenges myself and those around me to strive to be a better version of themselves.
Being yourself on social platforms funny enough is a scary thing at first but faking it is even worse and trying to fit in makes life boring... I truly believe that the concept of paying it forward gives a person the chance to leave a positive impact in this world. I want to embody that message and inspire others to pay it forward in their own way
Thanks for the picture @storyofsage , this will be the first one I frame
