Together with Glitzerkatapult Collective we made our point clear at the green-washing animal welfare demo - there is no right way to do the wrong thing (killing living beings). We also pointed out the importance of criticising (and getting rid of) capitalism as whole oppressive system. On the back of the flyer there was a text about the connection between the consumption of animal products and climate change.
Other than the flyers we also had speak-outs and a lot of chants. When the flyers were empty, we joined the animal rights bloc (as you can see on the picture).
Very cool and empowering action!
@dragy101 made the sound track to this week's segment of "into the future". Into the future is a radio program aimed at changing the mindset of education in Zambia and having the idea of education in the country shift because we can't fix today's problems with the same thinking that got us here.
I'm passionate about education because we say children are the future but we don't give them the right tools to have the advantages to grab the future with both hands. That has to change. 🔗 in bio
Slow Down, But Don’t Stop!! Spending time with your child does not have to be a task. Cook with your child (kids love to help), do laundry with them (have them sort out the clothes by color), have your child read a book to you, while you are doing a task (like scrolling through social media!!!) Take 10 minutes to watch your child do the same flip that they have been working on alllllll week. (and they still haven’t gotten it 😂😂) Spend Time With Your Child!! Children want attention, and yes sometimes they want all of our attention. So compromise and SPEAK to your child. Spend time doing something they want to do and then explain, afterward, they will do something that you want to do. This teaches children 1. They have choices. 2. Certain choices yield certain results. 3. Taking turns. 4. Patience. 5. Responsibility. Learning does not only take place in school, it takes place at home as well. You are your child’s first teacher. This is just one example and it may not work every time, but we have to try!! Like and comment!! Tell me what works for you? I post things to have open discussions and to share tips, ideas and resources. It takes a village to raise kids!! Let’s all work together and guide these children to a successful future. Jordy will be entering high school next month in #Nicaragua. He’s excited and thankful for the opportunity—especially because his future was not always so promising.
Jordy’s mother, Carmen, used to struggle to pay for his schooling. At the time, she fell into prostitution, and felt she couldn’t escape that lifestyle and still care for her son and ensure his #education.
But now, thanks to a ministry called House of Hope, Carmen has left prostitution behind. And thanks to OBI friends like you, Jordy has a scholarship to continue school. He said, “It moves me to know that there are people who care about my education.” Please pray for desperate mothers and children in need of help and opportunity.
My diabetic team is names Gavin's Shark Shiver, because a group of sharks is a "Shiver" just as a group of people make up a community. My goal is to bring awareness to not only my condition of type 1 diabetes, but to make people understand what I already as a kid know... We are killing our world! Stop, so my generation can study all the animal species endangered out in their natural habitat. Not out of books because they are long gone. #educateyourself
👶 🐾A dog education consists of punishment for bad deeds and reward for fulfilling your requirements. I think this balance should work with children. Otherwise, there are two extremes: hyper-responsibility and pampered.
Hyper responsibility is produced when a child is punished not only for bad behavior, but even for not meeting the requirements. And when he fulfills the requirements, he is not particularly encouraged, pretending that it should be so. For example, a child does not have to study well. But parents require fives from him, and for bad grades child is punished. Growing up, such people often need praise and take responsibility not only for their lives, but also for the well-being of their loved ones. Complex honors from the same opera.
The other extreme - permissiveness, when for bad deeds should not be punished. Such children do not understand what is bad and what is good and often become people with deviant behavior (for example, alcoholics, drug addicts). There must be a balance in everything, do you agree? 🧒

“Teachers Need Students, Students Need Books, School Need The Money That The District Took” These teachers need us. Support your local teachers, don’t send your kids to school. This touches home, I have a sister, nephews, nieces that need their teachers, that need their education. They’re the future! My family has been on strike with them since day one supporting physically & emotionally. Everyday we take them drinks & snacks but they need income for their own families as you know they’re not getting paid for being on strike for our kids putting their families on a strain. This go fund me is to help them with Visa giftcards to help them with their personal expenses such as groceries or gas. If you can financially donate, support your local school, share this go fund me or post, don’t send your kids to school and make your voice be heard!

In-between spaces can now become flexible, beneficial learning areas for individuals and groups that take advantage of valuable school real estate that would otherwise sit empty or underutilized. 💡🙏👌
A wonderful message by @jayshetty! Don't get me wrong, it’s definitely fun to come across people's posts on IG comparing pictures of themselves to how they looked like 10 years ago. Aside from comparing our appearances, however, we should also look into how much we've grown internally in the last 10 years. For example, do you find yourself more confident now than you were 10 years ago? Do you find yourself more comfortable interacting with people than you did 10 years ago? Do you find yourself handling difficult situations much better now, compared to how you did 10 years ago?
I can certainly relate to this. Ten years ago, I was not remotely the kind of person that I am now. I didn't know much about how the world works and I was living my life based on societal standards. However, thanks to the internet, social media, and my personal experiences, I now have a much better understanding of success and life in general. I'm now implementing the habits that most successful people embrace. I now find myself having the courage to step out of my comfort zone and live my life according to my own terms, rather than other people's expectations. Mind you, there are definitely certain aspects of my life that I'm still working on. However, looking back to the kind of person I was ten years, I'm very pleased to see how much I've grown to this day.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. How much have you grown compared to the time ten years ago? Comment below and tag someone who needs to see this. #10yearchallenge#soulgoals#growth

Caput medusae, also known as palm tree sign 👩🏻⚕️👨⚕️ This sign is the appearance of distended and engorged superficial epigastric veins, which are seen radiating from the umbilicus across the abdomen.
Engorged veins throughout the abdomen (caput medusae)
Caput medusae, also known as palm tree sign, is the appearance of distended and engorged superficial epigastric veins, which are seen radiating from the umbilicus across the abdomen. The name caput medusae originates from the apparent similarity to Medusa's head, which had venomous snakes in place of hair. It is also a sign of portal hypertension. It is caused by dilation of the paraumbilical veins, which carry oxygenated blood from mother to fetus in utero and normally close within one week of birth, becoming re-canalised due to portal hypertension caused by liver failure.
