Happy Friday! Here are some things that my kids have been up to that might interest yours:
1. My 2yo son likes this Pom Pom Color matching with tongs and bottle caps (my son calls this Pom Pom 游戏). Really easy to set up with dot stickers or paint; color names written on the other side of the cap for print exposure. Swipe to see the set up on our shelf. My son does this activity for just a few minutes at a time which is normal for his age.
2. My 5yo daughter is currently reading 數學幫幫忙 Math story books. She is obsessed with this book about chicken pox and asking me a million questions about how vaccines prevent infection and how the rash looks and feels like lol. Swipe for closeup of the book - highly recommend this series for kids who are lower elementary level.
3. Easel is one of the Winter Solstice / Dongzhi Festival activities that I posted about in December - 9 flowers with 9 petals each. We learned that the tradition involves coloring a flower petal per day, and when you're coloring them all, Spring has arrived! My 5yo has kept up with this for the past month!
Wow! I meet so many superstars 💫 every day at work...thriving children, loving parents and wonderful, hard-working teachers.
These two heros I met again 2 days ago. They - for the 3rd time (!) donated a gift coupon they won for their brilliant idea to our Child Care Center! But not only that...they doubled the amount of the gift card so we can even buy more books for the children. Incredible, huh??? ♥️💯👏🏽☄️💪🏽🙏🏽♥️ Who are your everyday life heros?

Keep this in mind the next time a hard conversation is on the cards. We might think sparing people’s feelings by dancing around the issues is the kind thing to do. In actual fact, the kindest thing we could do is be honest and show a commitment to clarity. Just a different way to reframe it☺️✌🏽 #communication#connection#brenebrownquotes

How are you spending your Friday night?
Me, I'm being wild and crazy with some awesome paperwork! Getting into the work groove is so different than what I've been doing these past few months!
One of my huge goals this year was to stop the procrastination. And that's why I'm doing this tonight, so I can party hard tomorrow night 😉
Colour matching activity. @kmartaus you have done it again! . .
I just purchased the ‘Colours’ wooden book for $5 and the ‘Mini Bowling set’ for $3 and now I have a wooden colour sorting activity.

In what ways do you embed colour recognition in activities or play in your classroom?
Since Samson was little, I must have instinctively known that the “no screen time” rule “for 0-2’s” wouldn’t be a “recommendation” we would abide by. He always seemed to only engage (I’m talking very short snippets of eye contact) when I sang to him, or when certain songs came on the T.V when our daughter was watching. He would stop running backwards and forwards and start jumping and flapping with what appeared to be excitement. We would get more eye contact from him when I allowed him the opportunity to watch tv (via YouTube clips) and he has expressed interest in various genres of music that have 😯 surprised me to say the least! (By giving me smiles, eye contact). One of his favourites is Pavarotti singing “Nessun Dorma” I cant help but believe, not only this music is in some way therapeutical for him, (as it’s can sometimes be our calming music🎵 🎧 ...Mozart for babies),it also provides him the opportunities to be expressive (where his verbal skills are limited) and with songs like the Sesame Street Celebrity Songs, he dances, jumps, flaps and moves his body around the room in interesting and eccentric ways. ❤️🌈❤️🌈 ...All I’m saying is that I don’t think this type of visual stimulation is as bad as it’s made out to be...I’m celebrating the fact that he is learning and taking in information and concepts (even without me realising it or seeing the evidence yet) and he seems to get great enjoyment out of it! 🌈❤️🌈 Did you know Sesame Street have created a character with Autism called Julia?... 🌈💖check it out on YouTube, it’s a great way to explain, create awareness and teach (in an age appropriate way)how to be considerate of children with special needs such as Samson 🌈❤️🌈 #sesamestreetandautism#adifferentbrilliant#seeamazinginallchildren#autism#autismawarenessaustralia#autismspectrumdisorder#autism#autismawareness#musictherapy#earlychildhoodeducation#specialneeds#specialneedssiblings

Mandatory celebration for one of my teachers in my classroom getting promoted from Teacher to Head teacher. I’m so proud of you @coronel0387 . We celebrated my successes awhile back when I became Head Teacher and I’m happy it is your turn to lead your new team. Blessings on blessings. ❤️ I have seen so much growth and leadership from you over this past year. Can’t believe it’s been 4 years since we been working with each other. I wish you well and you will be a classroom away 😂 but now we get to appreciate each other and work as a team leading others together. I appreciate your flexibility and positive energy everyday with a “we got this” attitude. #levelup#powerfulwomenrising#earlychildhoodeducation#weareteachers
@mrshayesclassroom made has a 🚨KMART Hack Alert! ⏰ She needed a clock for her new little space. ⏰ She bought this Kmart one for $2.50. Around the outside is concave so she filled it with pompoms. The pack was from Kmart $2! (She hot glue gunned the pompoms-TIP- make sure you glue where you won’t see from the front).
Love @twinklytails birthday spin on the classic rainbow! Their Birthday Rainbow is a great (dm them to order) addition to your classroom🌈🎈

Celebrating our differences ♥️ .
. Looking forward to displaying this picture in our classroom. Just finished writing, “your uniqueness is your magic” on the back of each picture my munchkins will be getting to take home on Monday. #celebratediversity#celebratedifferences 🤝 🤟🏼🤟🏿🤟🏽🤟🏾
I've collaborated with @mikro_australia to share my experince with these beautiful mats. They should be a staple in every playroom, we've just ordered our third 😜
I bought our first mat when Little Miss was 3 months old and my god I wish I had of done it sooner! The second was purchased the day we received the first 😂
She suffers reflux and was and still is a massive spewer! She used to spew EVERY time I lay her on tummy time... I was doing a load of laudry each day and we all know how challenging that is with kids!
It has drastically reduced the smell of spew in my house and lowered my laundry to about 3 loads a week as I can just wipe it clean 👌
The squishy mat is really comfortable to sit on and has saved SO many falls when she was learning to sit up.
I find Big Sis now enjoys more activities on the floor over the table which is wonderful as we can do them all together and no one gets left out.
I also love that they are reversible as I feel it changes the look of the playroom without having to rearrange 😊
We have the Blooms with Geo Grey, the perfect mix of neutral and girly 🌸
