Today being the big #climatestrike with our youth in the streets, it seemed like the proper day to me to do the Queen bees portrait.
To me it is the only queen that matters, the only ones that is good to us and worth fighting for.
Younger I used to hate them, bees like any bug to me where just annoying creatures. Until I understood that any creature on this planet serves a purpose. Remember your biology courses? Food chain matters, big time...yup, processed food ain't serving any purpose, bugs do.
How do you feel about them? #portraitchallenge_2019 cohosted by @ohn_mar_win and @augustwren
Great reference photo from Alexander Wild biologist/ photographer from Texas (does not seem to have an instagram account)
I do NOT like big cities. And I don’t like debauchery of any kind. So anyone who knows me would be SHOCKED that one of my favorite cities in the country is New Orleans. When you’re there, although you can escape the drinking on Bourbon Street, you can’t escape the culture, the history, and the gorgeous architecture. And don’t even get me STARTED on the food. Laissez les bons temps rouler!!
Spent some time in the Prehistoric Glen Cycad Collection today, drawing the same kind of trees the dinosaurs used to hang out under. 🦕🌴 Scroll through to see another drawing and some photos from the garden, too. 🌿🌳
