I had the most wonderful LGBTQIA+ Passover meal here in Jerusalem last night with Rokhl and some very dear friends of hers. They created a Seder plate with vegan alternatives to the egg and bone, which was wonderful.
If you've never been to a Seder meal for Pesach, you may not know that there's many traditional items on the table, which all symbolise different aspects of the Israelites' exodus from slavery in Egypt. I drew some of the things on the table and wrote a little about what each food represents. I'm a goy (non-Jewish) so some of this may be mixed up. I tried!
My first sketch set from random photoref in a few days didn't go terribly well, as the high-intensity penciling didn't agree with my suddenly ailing (index) fingertip. Yeahp, some days even soft 5B leads aren't quite soft enough to avoid hand problems; oh, well. Take care of those drawing hands, artists! Says the guy with roughly 10-12 different chronic but—so far, at least—transient drawing-hand issues. Not bad for my age, however; hell, I had much worse carpal-tunnel symptoms in my mid-20s, back when I still inked. #lifedrawing#pencilart#photoreference#drawingfromobservation#drawingfromphoto
