Screw the rest, pardon my French. Be who and what you want to be! 💝

Wait til you see the nice guy next year!!! 😎 But this is sad but true I’ve def fell into this spell i jus like being nice 🤷🏽♂️ it’s better when you play the role of yourself #doyou and the rest will follow.
Today was epic! It was one of those days were unexpected magic lit my path. Where my heart opened and truths were revealed. A day where I felt like I was standing exactly where I am meant to be.
You have to lean into your light. Embrace your truth. Know what you bring to this world and then show up!
My heart is smiling and I am beyond on grateful for all the moments, all the stories, for everything that has lead me here.

Did I want to? No. Am I glad I did? Heck yes! Mindset is EVERYTHING. I don't know why I always get back into these negative habits of saying I have to do something. I used to be grateful and thankful that I get to workout. Time to realign those positive thoughts and get back in those habits of saying I WANT to, not have to.
The most attractive quality someone can have. How can anyone see how great you are if you can’t see it yourself?
Confidence is something I didn’t have before.
I would always want to hide in the back, blend in, keep quiet.
When I first started out with these at home programs and meal plans, I had no idea how that part of me would change.
It wasn’t my reason for starting, it wasn’t even one of my reasons. It was a huge bonus. I never realized how self conscious I was until I found my confidence.
So when you think you can’t do what I do, you can’t post yourself on social media, I’m here to tell you that you can.
Start where I started, and when you realize that this can change the game for other women too? It’s only natural to want to pay it forward.
If this peaks you’re interest, drop an emoji for the deets!!
Just a girl living her best life, as her best self.

It has been a minute since I really devoted a post to my fitness. Fitness was like my religion for a long while. And, while I still love working out and I still care a lot about my health, fitness is no longer my whole life. It is just a part of my life. I believe that to be one of the biggest take-aways from my entire fitness journey; to make this all about a lifestyle.
Swipe ➡️ to the next photo. The left photo was taken today. The right photo was taken one year ago. Did I reach all my fitness goals? Nope. Did I go backwards? I don't think so. I am not as lean as I would like, but I am also not where I was; 197lbs at my heaviest. I have maintained and sustained.
Right now. Size-wise: the same. Strength-wise: much stronger.
I learned a lot about myself this past year, both in regards to my physical health and my mental health. I learned how to find balance; to enjoy eating while still knowing how to stay fit without being insanely obsessive over calories, the "unhealthy" foods, and/or working out two or more times a day. I learned that I may be leaner and skinnier when I do follow a low carb diet. I also learned that I am a lot weaker when I follow a low carb diet, so weak that i sometimes would pass out from fatigue. I learned about discipline, and how it really is a mind over matter game. I learned about how the body works from so many fitness trainers and enthusiasts, all whom I deeply admire. I learned to love my body the way it is, and believe me, I am still working on this one. I learned that I have thick thighs and that's it. Haha. And, my thighs are muscle. I learned that even if I had abs, my abs would not hangout with me 24/7. My body changes in accordance to my life, and that is normal and that is okay. I learned that no matter how hard I try to be skinny, buff, thick, etc., if I am not happy with who I am as a person, I will never love who I see in the mirror. -
So, strive to be your best self in the ways that best works for you! And, enjoy life.

I’m boring as hell these days; can’t remember the last time I was out past 10pm. You can find me in the office or drinking on my porch like an old black man. #doyou#boring#homebody#yeah#thesedays
Burn out can happen to anyone. Have you ever burned out?
I still love yoga and am still certified to teach it but I don’t . Why not share something I love?!? Because I did for a long time and allowed what went on around me to burn me out. I came to dread my classes and felt so empty trying to teach them. I had nothing left to give to all these amazing people who came to my classes. I decided I couldn’t half ass what I taught so I stopped.
So many of us struggle with burn out and many of the things burning us out are things we love. We burn out on the careers we love, our children, the volunteer programs we assist with, teaching, serving, etc.... it’s not bad things we burn out on. This often happens because we keep pouring from an empty cup and that’s not maintainable. We don’t step back, say no and take time for ourselves. We believe if we push hard enough to do good that everything will be better but that’s not how it works. If you don’t step back soon enough, you will begin to resent things that you love.
My yoga is my practice now because I’m learning who I am from it. Someday, I will teach again in front of a class and when I do, I’ll have a full heart to share.

DO WHAT YOU WANT 💪🏼
