Looking for Mental Wellness answers? >>>
I try my best to give my patients extra time when they need it. But I do often rely on other mental wellness professionals like psychologists, social workers and therapists to fill in the gaps. .
Often i have to itemize my topics around medications since no one else in healthcare has the combination of expertise I (and other psychiatrists) can offer: pharmacology + medical school + biochemistry + physiology + pathophysiology + obstetrics + embryology + forensics + 4 years of hands on clinical training in hospitals & clinics. Practicing at the “top of my license” likely makes me sound like I am ONLY interested in medications when in reality I am just using the time I have for the info no one else can offer. .
If your psychiatrist seems to be doing the same, just know the likely premise is they want you to also be getting supportive care from your social support system, therapist, counselor, mentor, group therapy, and etc. The current American healthcare system makes it difficult for us not to practice at the top of our license and often employers want their psychiatrists to only do medication management. Talk to your psychiatrist during that 15 min appointment (well talk fast) & ask them where else you might be able to get the time you need to talk, be introspective, work on behavior modifications.
What is Emotional eating? “Eating to feed a feeling”
excessive eating for reasons other than hunger to get rid of negative emotions (Stress, Boredom, Sadness) and it can be a major cause of overweight, the person feels a false hunger (untruthful) which can lead him to eat more than the body needs, be careful from emotional hunger because of its negative effects.
Ps📋: relieve your stress, when you are bored avoid eating above your need, read a book📖, watch a movie that you love📺, drink more water, and you have to differentiate between false❌ and real hunger✔️. _________________________________________________________________

Dear future medical student (part 2),
If you've always felt like an outcast and never really felt like you belonged anywhere else, WELCOME TO THE DOCTORS' CLUB!
As soon as you meet another doctor, there is a silent recognition of similar battles fought, there is a mutual respect and there is ALWAYS help. Meeting an older doctor is always fun for me. I remember an uncle I was just getting introduced to said, 'We will have normal conversations soon but first we need to talk about doctor stuff.' And even if older/younger/same age doctors have not said that much, you always start there. And I think it's beautiful.
I have a class group where my seniors post before every test/exam telling us how to study for it. Don't know where I would be without them. For Prof there are nationwide groups where you can discuss anything related to the exams. On a worldwide scale, there are study groups where you can discuss questions, get information, look for study partners. How cool is that?! Most importantly how reassuring is that?
So you may feel overwhelmed, sometimes close to drowning. But there is a always a doctor nearby there to help you! They take care of the world but also their own! So don't worry. We got you! 💫

The ONE thing that REALLY peaked my interest in this wearable neuro technology was that it was homeopathic. Having the ability to not take pain meds or anything seeping into my body made the decision easier. Knowing that children can benefit from this amazing technology let me know that the future is in great hands (or feet 😉). I’ve read so many incredible testimonials from EVERY age bracket. This company is changing the future. If you don’t believe me, ask me to add you to the testimonial page and you can read for yourself.
Look what we have a Practitioner Program, we already have hundreds of practitioners in our program. And listen to this, doctors that are doing brain mapping with our tech, and are astounded at the results.

~THE BLACK WOMB IS STILL UNDER ATTACK~
DM me for your "RIGHTS OVER MY BIRTH" package and assert all of your rights as a birthing wombman in Amerikka. Protect yourself and your baby. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
The numbers don't lie!
THE ATTACK ON OUR BLACK #WOMBS HAS NEVER ENDED. #Maternalmortality rates are higher/worse than they were 25 years ago- BY DESIGN. #Blackinfants in America are now more than twice as likely to die as white infants! This is a racial disparity that is actually wider than in 1850- 15 YEARS BEFORE THE END OF #SLAVERY when most black women were considered #CHATTEL! In one year it also adds up to more than 4,000 lost #blackbabies. IF THIS IS NOT MASS #GENOCIDE AND #POPULATIONCONTROL, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS... #eugenics#HIREA DOULA!!!
I cannot stress this enough! #DOULAS ARE THE ANSWER! We have the knowledge to help change a tense or abusive situation to one where birthing women are given the space to advocate for themselves (with our support) or one where we are able to effectively and professionally speak out on their behalf.
EVERYTHING that takes place in a hospital setting is...
3. BY DESIGN
The #medicalsystem is extremely corrupt and so are #doctors- the agents who subscribe to and take part in the ongoing abuse and #trauma inflicted on our wombmen...in addition to silent genocides we don't hear much about because they are almost all carefully swept under the rug.
#Dangerous procedures are performed at #hospitals for the sole purposes of STRATEGICALLY creating an #emergency that would yield the #medicalindustry more money. 1 out of every 3 expectant #mother who #labors at a hospital will end up with a #cesarean and this is BY DESIGN. It all starts once you get an EPIDURAL. This happens DAILY! Just look at the #maternalmortality rates amongst #blackwomen in the US. #BLACKWOMEN ARE DYING DURING #PREGNANCY, #CHILDBIRTH AND AFTER #BIRTH AT A RATE 12 TIMES MORE THAN WHITE WOMEN! THIS IS NOT A MISTAKE...THIS IS BY DESIGN!
Our doctors have 100% of of their work schedule. They choose how many may patients they want to see a day, how many days a week the want to work, and not to mention full control of their income. 🙌🏼 💵

I am still processing our two week emergency trip to Erie, PA (with daily trips to Jamestown, NY). Earlier this week, TRK, @rebeccagoodstein and I decided we'd refer to this situation as "The Crisis" since there are/were so many moving pieces and nuances and we needed some shorthand and good branding...
So, living in #TheCrisis was really terrible... but there were several bright spots. One of the brightest was making a new friend: enter Dr. Eric Wright Bernstein. Dr. B was Ron's mom's anesthesiologist for her first operation while in Erie. We met him in the minutes before she was taken to the OR during what I imagine to be a standard pre-op interview about medical history.
I knew we'd be friends with Dr. B for two main reasons:
1) He was the only other Stein we met in the entire two week period we were living in Erie. Just to further clarify: we were in a HOSPITAL filled with Doctors and Dr. B was the only other Jewish person in sight.
2) During those intense pre-op moments (when TRK had lost his voice so I had to speak for both of us and fill Dr. B in on Kathy's medical history, ensure he would hold her hand before, during and after surgery and hold back tears during one of the scariest situations), Dr. Bernstein asked me if I was also a doctor. This is basically the best compliment ever. Digital marketing... medicine. Same same.
Dr. B became a friend during our stay in Erie -- he recommended restaurants, talked to us about his love of RBG, coached us on hospital system questions and brought a tiny bit of normalcy to an otherwise horrible time. Before we left, we stopped by the hospital again to say goodbye and snap this pic.
We're waiting for your visit to the 202, Dr. B.!

The first question he asks you when you are in: "Why am I seeing you today?"😍
...and the last thing you will be telling him before leaving: "Thank you for making me feel better"🤗 @dr.costi
Can You Believe These Ears?
This patient lost part of her right ear (2.75cm of the upper third of the helix and a portion of the scaphoid fossa, to be precise 🤓) due to melanoma skin cancer. She underwent “slow Mohs” excision by one of my dermatology colleagues and presented for reconstruction.
She is seen #beforeandafter undergoing a modified Antia-Buch chondrocutaneous flap reconstruction of her 👂🏼defect. I love this surgery because in under 90 minutes, the aesthetic contours of the ear can be restored. A traditional Antia-Buch flap causes the ear to become smaller/shorter, so I performed a modification to preserve the vertical height in this young patient. 🤗Stay tuned for the final results!
