Running is a mental sport and we are all insane ✖️✖️✖️ #RunLikeHell
That Friday finish line feeling got me like 🙌🏼
Throwback to my third marathon in November 2017! This was a redemption race - I had run a marathon that October and didn't do nearly as well as I knew I could. So I signed up for this race a month later and ended up cutting 10 minutes off of my time from the October marathon. When I saw this finish line, it was just such sweet satisfaction - knowing that all my hard work had actually paid off and that picking up this second race wasn't crazy like everyone had thought. It's definitely one of my favorite finish line moments. (Although 4 pm finish line today at work might give this finish a run for its money 😂 I am so ready for the weekend!!) .
Shadow selfie on Parliment Hill today after my first hill repeats of the year!
I'm not a brilliant hill runner and I was anticipating a slightly gruesome struggle today. Especially as I am coming back from a hip injury that put me out of action for the end of 2018. Weirdly the run felt pretty do-able...dare i say enjoyable? 🤷♀️ I know I'm not out of the woods with this injury. I've booked a 100miler for the summer (😳) and there are a lot of miles to run on this hip between now and then. But it's great to be feeling fit and enjoying the warm weather after being stuck inside feeling sorry for myself during the colder months. Or just running anyways and being in pain (I'm not good at taking it easy). Oh and shouts out to @cristianocosta11 for his expert physio help this winter with my hip injury! (And for sorting out my hand when I hit the deck out fell running.😬)

Another 20 mile long run ticked off the training plan this morning. Ran nice and slowly (15-20% slower than planned marathon pace). It was a very urban route today, taking on some of the roads that will be used at the #southamptonmarathon Very hilly and a good achillies work out! Will be pleased to have an easier day tomorrow; with just a short recovery run planned 🏃🏻♀️.
What are your running plans this weekend? .
Today was a great day. It suddenly warmed up after the snowstorm yesterday and went up to 55 degrees. So I got a really good run in. I felt really smooth and my splits were great and there was little wind. I followed it up with a great lifting session. I made some minor adjustments to my benching process. I am now going to do ladders. Start with my usual 65lbs do 3x10 reps, the go up 5-10 bounds in between each 3x10. That’s what I did today except started with just the bar and made it to 80lbs before my arms died.
💫 2019 Progress Update! 👊 So as you know I’m a fan of working out hard and always pushing my boundaries and seeing what my mind and body are capable of! 😏 QOTD: What’s one goal you want to achieve this year small or big. (From going on a walk per week, to making healthier plans, to transforming your lifestyle completely, etc) I wanna know so I can help encourage you 😊👊
At the beginning of the year I decided to start training for a half marathon 😳 bc it’s always been a goal of mine! (Long story short I tried in 2016 but ended up getting injured and had to take like 2 months off, so took a break from running) 😞 So 2019 swings around and I’m like NOPE ITS TIME TO DO THIS!! & now im about 3 weeks out from the half marathon and feeling extra pumped!! 🙈 yesterday I beat a new record and ran my furthest run at 9.4 miles! 😱🤗 but also -> 🥴 hahaha - Ps if anyone has tips for recovery after long runs I’d LOVE input!
My favorite thing about running is that for me it’s all mental. If I clear my mind, focus, and tell myself to keep going, something crazy happens and I KEEP GOING! The brain is SO powerful!
Also gonna be REAL honest and probs tmi but after long runs I freaked out bc my pee was pinkish 🤭 which I found out is a normal-ish thing with distance running, but if you’ve ever dealt with this or if there’s anything to prevent that please also let me know 😂 also with that I want you to know any fitness endeavors is always a journey and we can learn things together!! 🤗Yayyy! There’s never any question too weird or gross because it’s life and we’re all human and WEIRD STUFF HAPPENS 🤪🙌 but also i want your help too 😅
🌟 P.S. GUYSSSSSSS - bfowoxojdahxj I don’t even know where to start!!!! 🙈Basically I have an idea and I’m SO excited about it! (I’ll explain soon) ahhh. Stay tuned. #getupandmove#workout#fitness#fitspo#fitspiration#health#marathontraining#halfmarathontraining#halfmarathon#progress#bbg#healthyliving#bodyconfidence#distancerunning
