Our computing technology has evolved a lot in the past 50 years, but our commitment to world-changing progress remains the same. In 1964, the IBM S/360 enabled the management of complex processes through computer systems for the first time. Remember how we stir up boxes of gas to simulate turbulent ⭐️-forming molecular clouds? Well those clouds are also magnetized, and different magnetic field strengths create different structures. From bottom to top, stronger magnetic fields produce less contrast between the dense (red) and tenuous (blue) regions. This ultimately makes triggering star formation harder in those environments. #science#data#astronomy#astro#datavisualization#research#physics #⭐️
#SmartDevices are all the rage in today’s #data-obsessed world. I love investigating these new #gadgets to see if they really do get the improved results they claim.
That’s why, when @foreo contacted me to do a #sponsored review of their Luna FoFo #SmartBeauty gadget, I was more than eager.
First things first - what it is: it’s a silicon-covered face scrubbing device that has sensors embedded to measure the vitality of your skin. It’s marketed as a “smart beauty coach”.
The first thing I did with the device was check to see if the #sensor really responded to environmental stimuli. I tested it on my baby and my husband and myself. I also tested it after I had been sick with a stomach bug. The sensors are very accurate for measuring & scoring #SkinHydration.
How the product works is that the frequency at which the scrubber vibrates is determined by the readings of your skin in different areas of the face. So in that sense the Luna Fofo is offering you a customized #cleaning regime.
What the product does NOT offer you, however, are suggestions on how to improve your skin score. That said, you can use the sensors via a trial-and-error approach to figure out which #moisturizing regimes are actually working with your #skin.
What I discovered was that most of my high-end #moisturizers don’t work with my skin. What does work is #RoyalJelly.
So what the product did for me is it created data that described the condition of my skin so that I could use that information to select products that really work for me. It gave me a sense of certainty about my #skincare selections. And it offers a nice cleaning functionality on top of the rest. The price point is $129 and considering what I’ll save by stopping my purchase of ineffective #BeautyProducts, I’d say it is worth it!
