Yesterday afternoon our spokeswoman, Dr Nicola Williams, was booked onto @bbc5live Stephen Nolan's late news show to discuss @martinanavratilova's comments about trans participation in female sport.
We were then disinvited after Rachel McKinnon publicly refused to participate if we were included. We discussed this decision with editor Philo Holand, explaining how this is a frequently used tactic to silence opposing views. It contravenes #BBC editorial guidelines to allow a guest to veto the appearance of another. We were assured that Stephen Nolan was an experienced & tough interviewer & he would act as the challenging opposing voice. We were not satisfied with this & were offered a right to reply in a slot after midnight or in next Sunday's show.
The interview went ahead without us with Rachel McKinnon and UK #trans racing driver Charlie Martin.
The topic was introduced by Nolan with Martina's comment described as "upsetting, disturbing & deeply transphobic". No reference to the support she has also received. No indication that #Fairplayforwomen was disinvited to speak.

GOT GLUTES? 😆
Strong glutes are key to your best cycle and run performance!
I’ve been chatting to a few different athletes and many of you want / need to improve your glute and hip strength & stability💪
So this exercise goes out to all of you who want to improve your strength for both running and cycling 🚴♀️ 🏃♂️ Not only will the fire hydrant exercise build a stronger core, it will also help you to hold your running form when you’re starting to fatigue. And it will build injury resiliency, enabling you to activate all of those important running muscles (that fail on us when tired) when it counts most!
Ensure you have warmed up with 5 minutes of mobility exercises. See my last few videos for ideal hip mobility stretches. Complete 3 - 4 sets of 10-20 reps per side ( this will depend on your current core stability and strength as to how long you can hold good form for). You can also superset this exercise with another core exercise straight after completing one set for a more challenging workout. I’ll be posting my top 3 glute strength exercises NEXT 😁🙌

We all know that being cool and effortless comes pretty naturally to me 😂🤦🏼♀️. But, world’s lamest 🤙🏽 aside, I had one of the best days racing at the inaugural Melbourne Bicycles Hanging Rock Handicap on the weekend.
The racing itself was a sideshow to the wonderful support and inspiring women (almost 💯 of them!) who turned up and had a crack at something that was a bit new, and for some a bit scary 👹. I’ve never seen so many smiles or hugs at a race, and certainly never heard so much wholesale encouragement for your rivals. It’s stuff like this that makes me so proud to be part of this community, especially during this really exciting groundswell of support for women’s racing.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made the event a roaring success – I can’t wait to see where this event goes in future (maybe 200!).
