The Gbagyi people are predominantly and known to be very good farmers, as they use local farm instruments like hoes, and cutlasses to farm yams, maize, millet and groundnuts. They are also well known with their axes that they use to break woods and they refer to it as 'gbakun' .
The Gbagyi women of Kaba village which is situated in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory,Nigeria, usually go to a not so near and not so far very large farm where they plant, cultivate, and harvest farm produce.
On this day, was on a mission to harvest rice when they all chartered a pick up vehicle which transported them all to the farm and also took them back to their village in the evening. As a pick up vehicle is, it was a very risky vehicle to transport such huge amount of female as some sat on the edges of the vehicle, some sat inside the open space and some had to stand, with several pushes, incorporated with bad road along the farm which caused the pick up vehicle to tilt from left to right often, also, the bushes along the farm were also availabe to flog them immensely as the vehicle moves at normal speed level.
Along the road some stopped to get Food, Water, Fried fish, Kunu, Fried yam etc while some prepared their breakfast and lunch boxes from their various houses because they wouldnt have a means to buy anything in the farm and they cant afford to work all day with a hungry stomach.
