I haven’t taken Curl special classes. I did a 1 day certification years ago where we learned 1 basic cut.
I don’t follow Curly accounts.
The curl Artist I follow are usually because we are friends so I like to support their work, dreams, vision of building their brand.
The reason is because I get my inspiration outside of the Curly world and bring my interpretation into my work.
Brigette Bardot is one of my fave all time hair icons... so translating into a softer fringe (aka bang), light movement around the face, and all the volume in the crown.
I find that if all I immerse myself in is curls, I lose the energy and passion needed to bring to my art. It’s all to protect myself from burn out so my creative juices stay lit.
I don’t like to be put in boxes. I like to let people out of them. ❤️
